High Urgency Request
I am requesting utility assistance for a family who is close to having their electricity shut off. Mom suffered a stroke and was out of work for several months while she recovered. Because she is a single mom, the family was without their main source of income, and was unable to keep up with their bills. They are now facing a large bill she is unable to pay in full as she has not yet returned to work. She is near to being fully recovered and will return to work soon, but is needing assistance in this short time in between. This utility assistance will ensure the family's electricity and provide great financial relief as she returns to work and is able to recover financially as well.

This family had their water shut off. There was a leak back in April and May that the landlord fixed, however, there was miscommunication about the over due amount and who was responsible for the over due amount between the family, the landlord and the water company. The water company will not negotiate to work with family on a payment plan because the water is officially shut off and they can not do a payment plan if the account is in shut off. The total amount owed is $4313.46. Mom is able to pay $1000 on it and she has reached out to another resource that said they would pay $600 if she found a way to come up with the other amount. Mom also applied for the LIHWAP and will be waiting to hear back but that can take up to 30 days. Mom has reached out to several other agencies that have shared they are unable to help. Mom is very interested in budget counseling to ensure this does not happen again.

High Urgency Request
I have a bio family who is in need of immediate assistance with an energy bill. They have received a notice of disconnection in 5 days. There are two kids in the home and mom is expecting but having a difficult pregnancy. As she is of advance age she is struggling with high blood pressure brought on by her pregnancy. She is unable to work full days and medical team is encouraging bed rest. She shared that she is overwhelmed and terrified thinking about having to take an extended maternity leave without pay and having looming bill over the families head. In applying for LIHEAP they instructed her to wait until receiving a disconnect notice from the energy company but then was later denied and now is left without a means to pay. "I just can't stop worrying about everything which is exactly why I can't get the blood pressure under control, the only cure is delivery but that 15 weeks away. I can't continue like this I really need someone help." This mother has overcame so many barrier to provide for her children. She has completely turned her life around and has never stopped loving and caring for them. She has always keep the children's best interest at hear even when it was not favorable outcome for her. She completed substance use treatment and has been sober for over a year now. She is a wonderful person who just need some extra support at this time. ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Critical Request
This family has had everything thrown at them for the last couple months- Mom had car issues which prevented her from working for a bit, and her child was struggling with significant mental health issues that mom and social worker worked together to get services wrapped around. She finally felt like she was getting her feet under her- got her car back, is back to work, and then was hit with a shut off notice on her gas bill. She Informed social worker that she needs to get at least half of it paid for this week in order to avoid it being shut off. She is confident she will be able to pay the rest of the balance off now that she has reliable transportation again, but she just needs help with getting this half paid for.

This request impacts multiple families.

Lice treatment kits are needed to restock the school social worker's office to be able to provide lice treatment resources to families and students that do not have the financial means to be able to afford these products on their own. Being able to provide these resources to the family as soon as lice are found allows for treatment to begin quicker and for students to return to school as soon as possible once treatment has begun. Special Instructions: Please bring to our front office between the hours of 8-5 Monday - Friday, or drop off can be arranged with social worker.

I am working with a family from Micronesia that has a son with Cerebral Palsy. The parents have struggled to be able to maintain Dr. appointments for their child due to having to work to ensure that they are able to pay their bills. Currently both parents are employed and medical appointments are up to date. In order to maintain their momentum they could use some assistance to help pay some (or all) of their outstanding utility bills. Currently their water bill is $1049.13, $890.80 of that amount is past due. Last month the family was able to put $200 towards the bill. They seem to be capable of covering their monthly bills, they are having a lot of difficulty though recovering from when they were not able to. The extra support from the community will help ensure that they don't have to neglect medical appointments in the future due to not being able to afford to take the time off of work. Their son could also use his own twin sixed bed frame and bedding (he loves Spiderman!!) Any assistance towards this would be greatly appreciated. The family knows that it is a large bill and is grateful for any support they can get.

Children's Division has been working with this family of a single mother, four children (aged 9, 8, 5, and 4), and a dog. Mom works nights and is supported by a cousin who helps care for the children. The three eldest children are enrolled in school and the youngest is going to start school next year. Mom is doing her best to try and provide for her children's needs, but is in need of some assistance. She was shy to ask for help, but after explaining that everyone needs help from time to time, she became a lot more comfortable with the idea of letting her community help her. The following is a long list of needs, but any little bit helps; • Gas Bill (Spire Gas) the bill is 2228.85 When asked why this is so high she stated that she got behind during the winter (they live in an large OLD drafty house) • Air Conditioners (2) • One Twin Bed or Full Bed • Dining Room Table with chairs • Bowls (Plastic) • Cups (Plastic) • Plates (Plastic) • Silverware • Towels • Curtains • Books for the kids to read • Toys • Clothes for the kids o Child 1 (age 9) shirt size Lg/14/16, pants size 16 Long or husky, shoe 8.5 mens o Child 2 (age 8) shirt size M/ 12-14 girls, pants 12/14 girls, shoe 4 o Child 3 (age 5) shirt size M 12/14 girls, pants 16 or Husky, shoe 1 o Child 4 (age 4) shirt size 4/5T, pants 5 T, shoe 10
