A single mother of two provides for her children and her own mother. There is a language barrier that has made it difficult for the mother to keep a steady job though she is always looking. She has had issues paying her electricity bill and it has now gotten high with a disconnect notice. She has tried a couple other places for support but has not been able to get help with it. She believes if she is able to get her bill under control, she will be able to manage it moving forward.

Family is having some financial struggles due to grandmother being sick. They had their phones shut off due to not being able to pay the bill. They need their phones to stay in contact with each other throughout the day.

Family of 6 - electricity has been disconnected. Father works but mother is recently disabled due to a recent diagnosis of cancer. Family is in need of help with getting their electricity reconnected. Assisting this family would ensure that they have electricity in their home and improve their quality of life.

This family is currently in a Temporary Alternative Placement Agreement with Children's Division. The great grandmother of the child has taken full caretaking responsibility while the father works on substance abuse treatment. The new addition to the great grandmothers responsibilities has taxed her ability to financially make ends meet. The child needs to attend daycare so the great grandmother can work during the day and recently she paid for the childs daycare from her funds saved for rent.

By helping make up the funds she needed to take from her rent and paying for the remaining balance of the daycare this family will continue to care for the 3 year old child with autism while the father receives the substance abuse treatment he desperately needs.

Patient is a 4-year-old male at Children's Mercy Hospital. This patient had a traumatic birth when he was first born and since then has received multiple challenging medical diagnoses. These diagnoses include neurofibromatosis (tumors in the nervous system), 22Q deletion syndrome (a genetic syndrome that causes cleft palate, immune system disorders, kidney problems, and feeding difficulties), and diagnosed global developmental delay. These diagnoses have made it incredibly difficult for patient's father to keep a job, as he frequently must stay home to take care of his child. Of note, he is a single parent after his partner left him with the baby when she became too overwhelmed to take care of him. Without a job or a second income, dad informed us that he is in danger of his electricity being shut off due to not getting this bill paid, he currently owes $997 to Evergy. He has talked with Evergy and they are willing to put him on a 3 month payment plan if he pays a deposit of $339. He has been applying for part-time jobs but has not had great luck. He is currently in the process of applying for Social Security for his child’s disability but still is unsure how much he will begin receiving. Please help with this patient so his electricity does not get shut off and even more of his medical diagnoses worsen.

A mother is moving into a new apartment, more equipped for her children and their family's needs. The mother has an outstanding balance of $77 for the apartment that needs to be paid before she can move in. Assistance with this balance would help the family to move in a timely manner and not lose this apartment that they have been approved for. Assistance with this balance would also help this mother as she is close to reintegration with her daughter and establishing this housing with help speed up that process.

A kinship home is supporting three children in care and just had a baby earlier this month. There were severe medical complications, and therefore the mother has restricted activities and lifting. The family is moving to another city next weekend and I am hoping for a community to come together to support the family in moving on May 2nd and 3rd. The family has already rented a U-HAUL and will need help loading and unloading. I so appreciate any considerations to support this family.

Hello, I have a relative placement that paid $398.00 out of pocket for their niece to take a Driver's Education Course. Relative home has provided a receipt of payment. This teen has been through more than most ever will in an entire lifetime. With the love and support of her family, she is doing really well in school, has a job that she loves to go to and is thriving in her relative placement. A family member is taking in three young children ages 1,3, and 4. Car seats are not safe from the parents due to the condition and the family being homeless and living out of the car. Family member is needing car seats to be able to transport children to the doctors and other appointments that are needed.

This is a request for a 1-year-old female who entered KS foster care and was placed with a relative in Kansas City, MO. We are requesting a crib for the child. This child is not walking yet but she will be 2 this summer and her case manager said it would be best if we were able to acquire a crib that transitions to a toddler bed as we will likely need to request a toddler bed in the near future when she is able to walk. If that is not available, a crib will be great as she is currently using a pack n play temporarily while we locate a crib for her. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!
