I have a placement who is caring for her two teenage nieces after they were abused in their adoptive home, she is wanting to send them to a summer church camp, Grace Church of Arvada, the cost is $150.00 per kid, + a $50 registration. ($350.00 needed total) Their caregiver is hoping to get help covering the costs while she works on becoming a certified foster home provider to care for the girls long term and get them some summer activities to participate in. (Recommendations for other summer activities/camps/events for a 17 y.o. & 11 y.o. would also be appreciated!!!)

Foster Source regularly receives requests for non-certified kinship caregivers in need of safety items. Non-certified kin can become certified and receive much needed financial assistance just like traditional foster parents. One of the requirements for certification are safety items - 5lb fire extinguishers, cabinet locks/outlet covers, medicine lock boxes, and carbon monoxide & smoke detectors. We could use your help in getting these items so that when families make the request, we have them on hand to distribute in a timely fashion. If you are able to provide any of these items (in any quantity), they can be delivered to our office within the Adams County Human Services Building (Westminster) or we can arrange a pick up. Thank you for helping us with this frequent and urgent need!
Youth who has been in care since 2018 due to concerns of neglect in the home and sexual abuse. A has moved placements several times with different family and then most recently foster care. A's mother was deported to Mexico years ago and he rarely talks to her. His father, who lived in Mexico, recently passed away. A l is moving from foster care to a kinship home with his best friends mother. The kin provider wants to create a safe and inviting space for A. He has never had a room to himself before and is looking forward to having his own space he can take pride in. Bed frame, Mattress, Bedding and night stands are needed.

We have an amazing single foster mom who is looking forward to spending the summer with her foster son. They have lots of adventures planned but they are really looking forward to bike rides around their neighborhood. "B" is finally big enough to upgrade to a brand new bike but they could use some support from their community! This mama has already does so much and we are hoping to bless her and her sweet B with the ultimate summer gift - a brand new bike! We are looking for a boys bike, 12-14 inches. This one would work great but they are not picky:
This family is requesting two queen beds because they have had a flood in their home for the second time. The family is looking at over $4000 repairs in their home due to all the rain. Caseworker has a family in which 4 children total are placed with Grandmother. The 2 oldest children are 10-year old twins and they really want to be able to participate in their end-of-school-year bookfair. Caseworker talked with the school to see if they had resources to offset the cost to no avail. Caseworker also reached out to other funding sources at Denver Human Services which could not assist either at this time. Caseworker is asking for $70 in gift cards (or whatever amount is possible) so the two children can attend the book fair and pick out books for over the summer that will belong to them. Grandmother is on a budget and does not have the extra income for the children either.

This youth has been in the foster care system for most of her teenage life. Parents rights were terminated and it has been a struggle for this youth to get stabilized. We were recently able to find her a kinship placement and stabilize the youth, however she has no belongings of her own. This youth turns 18 in a few months and will then be a part of the Foster Youth in Transition program and is trying to get belongings of her own. The current placement does not have a bed and this youth is sleeping on the couch currently. The kinship provider is working to fix the basement, which just flooded adding a financial burden, into a room for the youth and is hoping for some help purchasing a bed for this youth so that she feels more stabilized and at home.

Biological father needs assistance getting new tires for his car as they are either wore out or have leaks. This father needs to be able to get to his treatment, visitation and Urine tests in order to be reunified with this daughter. A Wal-Mart gift card for tires or to Discount tire would work, or the client is willing to have tires shipped to his home. Updated on May 31, 2023 by an Agency Worker Father could still use help getting new tires as two of his tires have completely went flat.

A first time mom has recently moved to America from Columbia to study English. She is expecting her baby in September and is hoping to prepare with some of the larger items she will need to properly care for her newborn. She is currently living with her family and says they are struggling financially after her father's company is without much business. The father of the baby is still living in Columbia and is hoping to move to America soon to support his family. The mother studied family medicine in Columbia and is hoping to transfer her career to America to support her family financially. Right now, the mom asks for help getting the car seat and stroller. These items would help her safely transport her baby, and it will be needed in order for her to leave the hospital. We ask for new items. Thank you for your support!

I am working with a single mother who is only 21. She is a human trafficking victim and has been in and out of sober homes for the last eight months. The last sober home she was at she was asked to leave, but when this happened they took all of her stuff and either donated it or threw it away. This has left her with only a few clothing items and not much else. One of her belongings that got thrown away was her hair piece which is a big part of her confidence and she now is without. She is couch hopping at this time and could utilize some assistance to get a new hair piece, clothing, and toiletries.
