This 14 year old boy has been in care for over two years. He moved bounced around a little, before finding stable placement with his siblings in March of 2021. He has an 8th grade field trip to Washinton, DC coming up in April (with payment due in December). This youth is a great kid. Once he got into a stable and loving home, and was able to find the right dosage of medication, he has thrived. He does well in school, loves playing sports, and he has a very humble and kind personality. He would really like to go on this trip, and his foster family would really like for him to be able to join his classmates. They need some help to make this happen. The cost of the trip is $1,609, and that is a lot for the family to take on, especially since they have five other children in the home.
There are a few children in Kid Zone that struggle with anxiety when it comes to moves and it would be beneficial to them to have things that help calm them while waiting for a new placement. Weighted blankets have helped a lot in the past and sometimes these end up going with the child to help with the transition. We would love to help soothe children during this difficult time through transitions. Weight blankets-different sizes and fidget toys
A is a one-month-old little girl and S is a one-year-old little girl who are keeping their mom busy. A was born prematurely. Mom has done the best that she could to get and prepare for little A but she needs some help. Can we please help this mom so she won't feel so overwhelmed with not having the items that she needs for her baby? New or gently used items would be such a blessing. Thank you for anything that you can help with.
A is a 12-year-old male and he does not have a bed. He has two younger sisters and his mom is doing the best that she can to provide for them. Mom recently had a baby and just returned to work after being off for maternity leave. His bed would be located in their living room so if someone had a daybed they would be willing to donate, that would be great as well. Thank you for anything that you can help provide, it will be so appreciated and the family would be so grateful.
We have a young lady that from birth to 21 was raised in foster care. Her experience growing up in the system left her feeling like a black sheep because did not receive love or positive attention. She did not let that deter her she decided to put her energy into graduating high school and going to college which she accomplished. She study hard but ended up getting so sick that it put her in the hospital. She lost her housing and had to drop out of college but did she give up. It took her 3 years but on her own she found stable housing, got a job and enrolled back into college. She just got her AA - Social Behavior & Science Degree. She is currently working on getting a Criminology degree. Her medical condition worsened last month and she had to take time off work to recuperate. That ended up putting her a month behind on rent. She is now better and back at work and in college but needs help with that months rents to get caught back up. We are so proud of this young lady for not giving up. She said she is praying someone would be able to help her, if so she would greatly appreciate it.
Mother and child recently reunified. They are in need of basic household supplies and hygiene necessities.
If these needs are met it will keep child in the mother's care and avoid removal into foster care. Other permanent resources and services are being put in place to preserve the unit of mom and child together. These items will allow the case to close and the family to move forward with permanency in the home.

This family is currently facing financial hardship due to being a single-income household, as mom has been facing some health issues. They're dealing with food insecurity and struggling to pay utility bills, as well as recently having to pay for bed bug treatment for the home. They already receive food stamps and utilize community resources (e.g., Just Food) when they can.
I think they'll take any amount of relief they can get, and in any form, whether it's gas cards so they can get to work, gift cards for the grocery store, cash reimbursement for bed bug treatment, etc. In addition, the family is facing financial hardship to provide Christmas gifts.
The family consists of Great Grandmother (74 y/o) and her 2 great grandchildren (twin boys age:7 y/o). Great grandchildren were recently placed with great grandmother. Great grandmother has some financial struggles to maintain utilities and cost of two growing boys. After the children were placed in her home, employment became hard to manage. Great grandmother needs assistance with bills, groceries, gas, and clothing for the boys. If this need is met, great grandmother will be able to keep the children with her.
