The children were initially involved with the department for years ago. The younger child was born into the case. The children were initially placed together with another relative, but that caregiver recently passed away and the case reopened. The children have been with this caregiver since the beginning of the year and the caregiver is willing to provide long term placement for the children. The caregiver has not received any financial assistance for the care of the children. The caregiver recently had work completed in her home and this caused an increase with her electric bill. She is aiming to have the contractor address this increase however they have not been willing. She is also going to explore community resources during the last week of the month when funding is available. The caregiver is in need of assistance with paying her electric bill for $830.14. Bill payment assistance in any amount from $500 to not exceed $830.14. The caregiver may be able to pay around $300 depending on when the assistance is provided.

This caregiver has jumped in without much financial assistance to help meet the immediate and ongoing needs of the children. The timeframe is still pending when the caregiver will be able to receive non-relative caregiver funding. The caregiver is in need of assistance to move the children’s items from their previous placement. When the request is met, the kinship caregiver will be able to continue providing for the children’s basic needs with their items at their new residence.

$480 for a moving company (3 hours at $160)

The caregiver is currently caring for three children including his biological son as well as his son’s two siblings from different fathers. During the last hurricane, the caregiver lost his job and vehicle due to having to stay home from work to care for the children who were out of school. The caregiver is currently unemployed and is struggling to find employment with no transportation. He and the three children are currently living in an RV which is in the process of being repossessed. The caregiver has a job offer in Alabama where his mother lives. He and the kids need to pack all of their belongings and move to Alabama as they only have 5 business days until they will be without a home. The family is in need of $600 for moving expenses.
