a newborn baby girl is in need of a crib, newborn diapers, and infamil neuro pro formula (yellow can). the baby was placed in a kinship home with her half brother and was born just last week.

The Department is working with a family with a 1-year-old boy. They are currently in need of size 4 diapers and unscented baby wipes. The father recently switched jobs and the mother recently lost her job after missing work for mental health reasons. She is currently interviewing for new jobs. They are struggling with this expense as a result. The mother has completed her treatment and the father is in compliance with every aspect of his treatment plan, fully unsupervised with their baby, and nearing case closure. Assistance with this need so that the family can keep their child in home as they work towards case closure is greatly appreciated!

A Teller County teenager is in dire need of financial support to purchase clothing, toiletries, and other basic needs. This steadfast 17-year old was living on the streets with one biological parent in another state, and came to Teller County in an attempt to reunite with her other biological parent after many years apart. Unfortunately, this situation turned out to be just as unfortunate and unhealthy, and required the intervention of Teller County DHS, which located alternate living arrangements for her. This child is in need of clothing and supplies because what she had was thrown out with trash and animal feces. Please consider helping this persevering young woman, who has a job, wants to finish high school, and has plans to attend trade school. If you have it in your hearts and wallets, the Department respectfully asks for Walmart or Visa gift cards to allow this teen to choose her own items. Thank you for your consideration, community!

The department is working with a 20 year old girl that has faced abuse in the past and as a result has become very independent and very hard working, she currently has 2 jobs and is getting ready to start a 3rd. This month she experienced some unexpected expenses and is now facing not being able to pay rent this month for an apartment that she lives in with a peer. This youth is also preparing for her 21st birthday and will be aging out in just a few short months. Any help would be apreciated by this youth! Thank you!

I have a kinship provider who is caring for her 1 year old grandson. She is requesting help with a jogger stroller so she can take her grandson on walks for her health and his. A Walmart baby trend journey jogger stroller can be purchased for $109.00 online before tax. Or a Walmart gift card would be appreciated so she can purchase a stroller herself. Emergency kinship placement took a 22 month old girl and 8 year old boy in August of this year. Both of the children had medical and dental needs, and placement is making extraodinary efforts to make sure those needs are met. The 22 month old girl had the second phase of the cleft palate repair on 4/23/2025.. Due to her age, this is major surgery. Kin placement will be needing child care assistance since they will have to return to work a few days after she is discharged from the hospital and as a result, will need to hire childcare assistance to come into the home. A Visa gift card in the amount of $250 will provide the placement the ability to hire and pay a sitter. Both children are thriving in this placement, which is why this need is urgent. Preserving this placement will ensure the children get all of their medical and dental needs resolved. Bio parents want to see this placement preserved because of how deeply they trust kin mom and kin dad. Just a couple days ago, a single foster mom took in a teen girl who has experienced horrific abuse into her home. They've been grateful for many gifted used items that have been given to them to help provide her with some clothing, shoes, and basic essentials. However, the foster mom is hoping to take her on a super special "shopping spree" to be able to give her the chance to pick out some brand new shoes, clothing, and toiletries to call her very own. Any amount to a place like target or walmart would be helpful! Thank you!

My request today is for a King Soopers gift card for the family to use to get gas in their vehicle and diapers for their child. Dad lost his job 4 weeks ago and finances are tight. He obtained new employment and starts this Monday, but will not get his first paycheck for several weeks.

Ascent Church is pairing with our Local Missions partner CarePortal to collect school supplies for foster children in our community. We will be collecting NEW backpacks along with any and all basic school supplies. There is no pressure or requirement to buy or fill an entire backpack, feel free to donate what you can! If you don't like shopping, donating through a monetary fund is also available. Please bring you supplies on or before July 31st.
