Good after all, I have a request for help from a bio family striving to stay together. Currently, this family of four is living in a shelter (Family Promise of Greater Wichita, 1111 St. Francis, 67214) They have been able to secure a perfect home to move to, but are looking for help with the deposit of $150. This is time sensitive and are looking to move in on Thursday, May 15th. We at KFAN are making this request to help improve the safety and wellbeing of the children.

Good afternoon all, I am reaching out to our prayer family to request help addressing the immediate need of this expectant mother and child. This mom is striving to preserve her family unit. KFAN is requesting assistance from the CAREPORTAL participants to help the family move into a secure, safe and sanitary living environment. This assistance will keep the bio family from being homeless and prevent her young child from going into States custody. Staff members have contacted The Red Roof Inn and negotiated a cheaper nightly rate for a two week stay, while other resources are being sought. We are looking for any assistance that would help this family get into a safe place. The negotiated price is $450 per week, including tax.

17/F mother in foster care is needing help with tow cost of getting her vehicle to a mechanic in find out why her car is not running and obtain an estimate for cost of repair. This young mother recently gave birth to a baby girl in December and has had some struggles with postpartum depression. Having a running vehicle will ensure that mother is able to attend her mental health appointments, medication management appointments, ensure baby is getting to her required checkups and help mom attend school and work to better herself and her child's life. Mother's car is currently at her foster home in Northeast Wichita and needs to be taken to a local mechanic. A repair shop has not been identified at this time, so any suggestions would be appreciated as well as initial tow cost covered.

A mom of three has been working incredibly hard to get her life back on track—and she’s almost there.

Not long ago, her kids entered foster care after they ran away while the family was experiencing homelessness. Since then, this mom has completely turned things around. She’s obtained sobriety and just moved into a new home with space for the children. She’s done everything the court asked of her, and now her kids are finally ready to come back home.

There’s just one thing missing: a bed.

She was able to find beds for two of the kids, and we have a twin bed frame ready for her—but she still needs a mattress and box spring to make it complete.

She’s done the hard work. Now we just need a little help to finish the job.

Can you help us get one more bed so this family can finally be together again?

A 12-year-old boy has recently been placed in the care of his aunt after his grandmother could no longer manage his behaviors. His aunt, a devoted woman living in public housing here in Wichita, took him in without hesitation—even though she already works hard to provide for her own children and lives paycheck to paycheck.

Their home has only the bare essentials: beds to sleep in and a kitchen table to share meals. There’s no dresser for this young boy’s clothes—just a suitcase he’s been living out of. It’s a small, quiet detail, but it speaks volumes about the hardships they’re facing.

This is a kinship placement—family stepping up in the face of crisis. But love alone can’t meet every need. Without extra support, families like this are stretched to their limits. While it’s uncertain how long he’ll remain in his aunt’s care, what is certain is that he deserves dignity, stability, and the simple comfort of a space that feels like his own.

With your help, we can provide the essentials that turn survival into stability—and give this young boy hope during a time of great uncertainty.

Mother has 3 children and is living with her mother and her ex-husband in a one-bedroom apartment. They are needing air mattresses for the children or any form of beds. Any beds or air mattresses will help the family. requesting 3 twin beds or 3 twin air mattresses. A frame would be more acceptable since the home is only a 1 bedroom.

Family has been living in a domestic violence shelter and moved into their own home. Mom had three major surgeries back to back that caused her to lose her job. She is currently recovering but is looking for a job. Mom reports that 13yo male has not had new shoes and very little clothing in over a year.

Family is looking for shoes for 13yo m and shirts and pants for him. Men's shoes 8.5 Shirts- Large Pants/Shorts-Large

Mother is raising child on her own and recently finished school. She is needing help paying for her gas bill and water bill One child, 2 yr old female. Partial payments accepted as well.

Currently living in a shelter (Human-Kind), a single mother of 4 is in extreme and immediate need of hotel accommodations due to increased overcrowding and no guarantee of a bed from night to night. All family members have high medical needs and they are looking to stay at least 6 nights at a safe hotel. New estimated price for 6 nights will be from $350 to $400 total.

Currently living in a shelter (Human Kind), a single mother of 3 all who have high medical needs is looking for assistance. Help is needed to get reliable transportation legal. This family is requesting help with getting their car registered and tagged.

Mom said if she can get help with Kansas Gas bill she owes, around 330.00 mom and dad are not working life is hard and they are trying everything to stay afloat with bills and just the basic needs for her children and her whole family.

A single mom of four has been working hard to provide for her children. She recently got a job and a vehicle. She uses the vehicle to drive her child to and from school. But, the vehicle is in need of new tires, and mom is unable to afford that.

Mom is also struggling to pay for gas to be able to drive her son to school and get to her job. She is requesting help paying for new tires and fuel.
