A grandmother who is the relative provider her two-year-old granddaughter is asking for assistance with getting a stroller that the back can recline a little bit to be able to take her granddaughter to places like the zoo this summer and be able to enjoy the outdoors.

A 19-year-old mother and her 1-year-old son recently moved into stable housing after experiencing homelessness. Right now, they are sharing a small air mattress on the floor. The mother has tried to find beds on her own but hasn’t had any success so she contacted me for help. She is actively searching for a job and applying to school, determined to build a better future, but currently has no income. This family is in need of a toddler bed (with a mattress protector) for the child to grow into and a bed for the mother. Meeting this need will provide them with a safe, comfortable place to rest and help support the mother’s efforts to create a stable life for her son.

DSS is reaching out for community support to provide gently used household items. This family is embarking on a new beginning and starts with nothing. They require essential household items to create a warm and welcoming home. Items such as couches, beds, linens, bath towels, dressers, hangers, pots, pans, forks, spoons, curtains, lamps, TVs, cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, and toys for the children are all vital for building a nurturing environment. Let's come together to make a difference!

Family ( mother, father, and their year old child), need assistance paying for their hotel where they have been staying at since becoming homeless. Parents do work (mom works at Mcdonalds and Dad does contract work), but the cost of hotels have burned through their savings (they have tried calling shelters but have found no place with any openings and they do not have a vehicle to try and go to a long stay hotel while they try to improve their credit. Father should receive a paycheck next week and the family should be able to cover their expenses going forward. The amount asked for will cover a 3 day stay Hotel is the Super 8 by Wyndham. This young lady is going to attend to summer classes, and she is a need for a computer, for her classes. The youth is very smart and responsible and is ready to start attending to college. It will be very helpful If anyone can help her, if its a used computer its okay. she needs a computer for her school.

This CarePortal request is to help preserve a foster care placement. At a recent home visit, placement stated that she is needing 2T pajama pants and sleeves/mittens for the child. Foster mom stated that the child is having difficulty not sucking on his thumb/fingers. It has gotten so bad the dentist stated it has started to affect the way his teeth grows. Foster mom believes a pajama set included with mittens would help in the child to not suck on his thumb as much.

This CarePortal request is to help make a kinship placement. Child is in need of a suitcase to travel to Florida. Child is currently residing in Buchanan County Missouri. Child is going to visit family in Florida and will be taking a plane. At a home visit with the placement provider, foster mom expressed need for a suitcase for the 12-year-old girl to pack her belongings.

Family of (4) needs immediate assistance with food. Father works. Mother stays home with their newborn and toddler. Since the father has the vehicle, mother is unable to get to the food kitchen. She gets her stamps on the 11th, but is currently out of food. Could anyone assist with the following items?

I have a mother who is working towards her trial home visits with her son. However, she is needing to complete her SATOP program and at this time, doesn’t have the money to pay the fee, which is $249.00.

This mom has worked so hard over the past 8-9 months to get her life back on track by taking care of her substance use issues, outstanding tickets/warrants, working in her own mental health all while working and completing her court ordered services. With this class, she will be able to drive again, which means she won’t have to use public transportation. Thank you in advanced for all you do for our families.
