This is a celebration of resilience and triumph. A remarkable young mother of seven has navigated a challenging journey and has been collaborating with DSS for over a year. I am thrilled to share that she has finally secured her own housing after enduring homelessness for more than a year. This courageous mother has faced and conquered domestic violence, mental health struggles for herself and her children, and the hardships of being without a home. DSS is reaching out for community support to provide gently used household items. This family is embarking on a new beginning and starts with nothing. They require essential household items to create a warm and welcoming home. Items such as couches, beds, linens, bath towels, dressers, hangers, pots, pans, forks, spoons, curtains, lamps, TVs, cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, and toys for the children are all vital for building a nurturing environment. Let's come together to make a difference!

A single mother of two provides for her children and her own mother. There is a language barrier that has made it difficult for the mother to keep a steady job though she is always looking. She has had issues paying her electricity bill and it has now gotten high with a disconnect notice. She has tried a couple other places for support but has not been able to get help with it. She believes if she is able to get her bill under control, she will be able to manage it moving forward.

Family has lost rental home due to economic hardship caused by major health issues- mom has cancer. Family is currently living in a camper in an short-term camp ground. During move all food was spoiled. Family needs grocery money to stock fridge and purchase staples/ basics. Family has a plan for long term living but needs immediate help to feed their children.

A single mother of four is needing help with a few things as she is going through a tough time with kids medical issues, buying a new washer, etc. Her older kids have went through a growth spirt over winter and have nothing for these warmer months. She is also in need for a some hygiene/household products. Details listed below. oldest son needs shirts, shorts, socks: wears size mens medium, neutral colors daughter needs shorts, shirts, anything for the summer, dresses etc: shes putting her in womens large or womens size 8, girly not picky middle son: shorts, shirts: wears size boys 6, 6/7 Family needs: body wash, shampoo/conditioner (anything but suave or V05), baby Aveeno wash, liquid laundry soap

Good morning Care portal friends, we are seeking your support to help us with a gently use or new double stroller for Mrs. S. and her babies. She is also in need of diapers size 1 and wipes while we connect her with happy bottoms. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you so much for your support and willingness to help our case managers and the families we serve.

I'm needing this family to complete a UA so that we can determine if the children can be reunified with the parents.

A single mother currently has two of her children on a trial home visit while the third continues to get supportive services in a residential facility... we are hoping that the third can transition home this summer after school lets out. Additionally, the family has recently transitioned from a smaller apartment to a townhome to accommodate their need, but they are still in search of some living room furniture. It would be really wonderful if we could help furnish this family's living room so that they can enjoy spending time with one another together, rather than having to sit on the floor regularly. Ideally, we would like to help the family with one couch, one love seat, 2-3 coffee tables, a TV, and a tv stand. I am happy to coordinate transportation and delivery if necessary.

Client is a single mother who is working seven days a week to try to pay for the needs of her children and save for maternity leave. The father of her baby declined to help pay for any of the expenses related to the baby or prenatal care. Client needs size M or L maternity clothing - especially black stretchy pants that she can wear as part of her work uniform.

Grandmother has placement of her four grandchildren. She is in the process of adopting the children. The family has struggled in the past with home conditions and they have made great strides as a family to keep up with the housework. The children are sharing bedrooms and need help with two dressers in order to keep their bedrooms picked up and orderly. These can be used!

Family is having some financial struggles due to grandmother being sick. They had their phones shut off due to not being able to pay the bill. They need their phones to stay in contact with each other throughout the day.

Cass County Prevention is currently working with a mother and her paramour in regard to their rent and other utilities. The rent is overdue at the present time and the family has only been able to pay $500 so far this month. The paramour's next check is only estimated to be around $300, and the mother is attempting to locate employment; however, her application for childcare was denied so this makes it harder. Furthermore, the mother indicated their water was turned off today, April 24th due to the bill being past due. The remaining amount of rent is $700 for this month and in order to get the water turned back on it will cost $234.96. If the rent is not paid by next week, the landlord is talking about not allowing them to stay any longer in the home and terminating their lease. The mother is worried for her children, as she does not want them to be without working utilities in the home, nor to have to uproot them from their current schools.

Family of 6 - electricity has been disconnected. Father works but mother is recently disabled due to a recent diagnosis of cancer. Family is in need of help with getting their electricity reconnected. Assisting this family would ensure that they have electricity in their home and improve their quality of life.
