A young adult recently aged out of foster care. She is a mother to a one-year-old beautiful baby girl. Mother is enrolled in college, recently purchased a home, and is working hard to reach her goals and provide for her child. However, she needs some help. She is in need of 12 month NEW clothing for her daughter. She needs fall/winter clothing for her child, including long sleeve shirts, pants, onesies, and PJ's, as well as size 4 diapers. Having this little bit of extra help will really allow mother to focus on financial planning regarding their home and college expenses.

Three teenage girls were placed with their grandfather after their mother passed away. Their fathers are not very active in their lives and do not assist financially. The grandfather works but needs assistance with beds/bedding as he does not receive any assistance for the children. He has requested a twin bunk bed and a separate twin sized bed to accommodate the size of the children's room if this is possible. If not, they are thankful for any assistance, they receive.
The family resides in Newark. (19713)

A young adult is transitioning out of foster care and into her first home. She is very excited, but needs a little help affording comfort items. She is in need of a queen size bed spread and sheets, a television, a firestick if the television is not a smart tv, a full body mirror, and a tapestry to decorate her new home. She is very much into “hippie” vibes, and would prefer the bed spread and tapestry to be multicolored. Her favorite color is yellow.

Susan:
I can buy the comforter and the sheet set. Can I purchase them on Amazon and have them shipped to a specific address? I am a teacher and it is hard for me to make deliveries during the day.

Thanks, Sue! This is great. You can send the items to the Children's Choice office in Newark. I need to find out who the worker is so that you can put it to their attention. - Jamie

Jamie:
There are resources made available from the community. We are taking the lead and working out the details. Sue Toms, from Gospel Life Church, will be ordering these items from Amazon and having them delivered to the Children's Choice office in Newark. Could I get a worker's name to attach to that order? Thanks! - Jamie

A single mom of 2 little girls, 3 and 4 years old, is struggling after the ceiling in her apartment totally collapsed on her little girl(s). She works full-time but has struggled financially and has no money to buy furniture and clothing for her girls. It was all destroyed. She is staying with relatives until she can find housing she can afford, but can not stay there too long. She was able to get summer clothes for the girls so now needs fall/winter clothes, coats, shoes, and toys. (4 year old): size 5/6 in girls/ shoes: 10 1/2 - 11. (3 year old): size 5T/ shoes: 9. Once she has an apartment lined up she will also need help furnishing it, including beds for all of them and dressers. The clothes and items for the girls can be delivered now, but the furniture will be contingent on when she's able to move into an apartment. Any help is appreciated during this very difficult time, and will help stabilize their living situation and keep them together.
