The apartment sprayed for bugs, but grandma is requesting the need for full and queen size zip up mattress protectors to help prevent re infestation and to protect themselves from coming in contact with the bug spray that was sprayed on the mattresses due to it is causing some skin irritation.
I have a single mother of 5 that recently moved into an apartment after being evicted from her trailer. Mom was unable to bring the kids beds when they were allowed a short amount of time to get their stuff out of the trailer. Mom is requesting the need for 4 twin size mattresses and box springs for the kids to be able to sleep on due to currently sleeping on the floor. Mom is disabled and on a fixed income and is unable to afford to purchase the beds herself. Mom is also needing basic kitchen items such as pots and pans, silverware , cups, plates and bowls.

This grandpa would like assistance with some Christmas gifts for his granddaughter. They recently lost their grandmother. This young person would like a $25 giftcard from Hobby Lobby. They are very artistic and loves to make things. And a Large Hoodie (they like darker colors).
His family has had many changes over the last year and had some financial struggles. They wanted to know if they could get assistance for Christmas. This young person would like a $25 Amazon card and a package of XL Crew neck white Tshirts. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
The department has been working with a dad with 1 child in a Family Center services Safety Plan, to prevent the child from going in custody. The father of the child is the primary support in the family, and he has been working hard to complete his services. The department is reaching out for help in covering this cost for the family. As those results are critically needed in being able to further provide support for the family by the department. In fulfilling this request, you would be ensuring the family is given the best opportunity to be successful in the family center service case and receive the support they desperately need. The department would look for other resources to help dad with a refrigerator. The dad on my caseload is moving into his new trailer home this this week and he will need a refrigerator. Any support would be greatly appreciated or if you know someone who can donate or refer dad to a gently used refrigerator, he would grateful! Thank you!

We are currently working with a family of 9 in Payne County. The father recently became unemployed and the family is down to one income. The family has limited space in their home and need assistance with some organizational items. The family could use a shower caddy or shower shelves [preferably the shelves if available]. The family is motivated to work on their goals and have been cooperative during services. Any assistance for this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your ongoing support!
A family in our community, currently overcoming the aftermath of domestic violence inflicted by the biological mother and her boyfriend, is in urgent need of our support.
The three youngest children have found refuge with their father and his wife, who are working tirelessly to blend their family of seven. Unfortunately, their washing machine broke this past Saturday, and with only one car available, taking laundry to a laundromat is an insurmountable challenge.
Adding to their difficulties, the mother is bravely facing spinal stenosis, while the father's income from a tow truck job is limited. They have identified a used washer for $300 on Facebook Marketplace, and your support can make a significant impact.
Could you contribute to help them purchase this essential appliance or provide a gently used washing machine? Your generosity will not only ease their immediate burden but also contribute to their journey of healing and stability.
I have a four year old boy who has been placed with a foster family for almost four months now. The foster family loves this boy and has gone to great lengths to accommodate him and his disabilities. Though this boy has been spending time in a center for specialized care, he will be discharged soon, and the foster family is trying to get everything ready for him so that the transition back into the home is as fluid as possible. They have requested clothing for this boy because he is growing out of the clothing they have, and also because the clothing they send with him to the center after a furlough does not often return with him. This boy loves all things Mickey Mouse. He loves playing with jumbo blocks and his cars, so that kind of image would be appreciated as well. This boy is in a size 5T and is in need of fall and winter items such as: long sleeved shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, pants and jeans, jackets, and a coat, gloves, and hat. He is still in potty-training and the foster parents are also requesting pull-ups with Mickey Mouse on them. Thank you.

DHS is working with a family in a family preservation case to help a family create a better living situation for their child. They do not have working hot water right now and they had a leak they didn't know about so their water bill is extremely high. They have purchased the piece needed to fix the hot water tank but cannot afford to hire the plumber to come to the home. They have gotten an estimate of 400 from a local plumber and after calling several in their area, this is the cheapest quote they have been given. The child doesn't have hot water for a bath because of this issue and parents are having to turn the water off and on any time they need to use the bathroom or cook. The home is in need of a deep clean and having this water issue resolved will aid them in their cleaning. In addition, the family has been told if their water bill isn't paid by the first of the year their water will be cut off completely. The provider is not willing to work with them. They owe 1500. The child is a wonderful, well-developed, sweetheart and his parents have been incredible with DHS. They are compliant, willing to improve their situation, they are open to services, and willing to learn. Resolving this water issue and having assistance getting their water bill paid down will help the family tremendously. Thank you for your assistance.

A single mother needs a Crib Mattress. A crib was donated to her, but it has no crib mattress. She also needs 3 dressers. She needs two dressers for boys and one for a girl. In addition, she needs a microwave stand and would benefit from a donated area rug to go under her children's bunk beds. If this need is met, it will allow her children to have needed items and will allow her something to put her microwave on. She really needs the crib mattress as soon as possible please. Used items are fine.

Burmese Family #1
Catholic Charities will welcome a Burmese refugee family in December. This family is a mom with three teenagers. We do not have beds for the family and would welcome help providing the family with beds. I do not have a firm date for when they will arrive in December, but we will set up their apartment on December 4th. Then after they are welcomed at the airport, they will go straight to their furnished apartment with their case manager!
Gender Neutral Items are best.
Catholic Charities will walk with this family thru immediate case management for 3 months after their arrival. We will help with apartment set up, legal documents (like SS#), job placement, establishing medical care, enrolling the kids in school, and much more. Helping the family with household items is a huge way to help the family get established in Tulsa!

A child recently brought into custody and moved to a family members home after being removed is having a birthday coming up first week of December and the family is very tight on funds as the uncle is looking for work, there is a total of 5 children in the house at the moment, and two are new placements. Oklahoma DHS child welfare is working in an effort to support this family and to keep these kids with their kin. With that said, presents for one child's birthday are not easy to come by, at the current moment the aunt has nothing and no funds available to purchase presents for the child's birthday. Another organization has provided a birthday cake and decorations. This family is providing stable care and love to these kids placed there as well as their own, join us in the opportunity to bless this child on his birthday. Things he has asked for (this is not from the aunt but, the child himself): handheld game, books, cars, art stuff, art easel, slippers (size 7 little boys), anything Spiderman. If you would like to provide a gift card instead, worker will make sure he receives the items he is wishing for as well. Updated on November 21, 2023 by an Agency Worker What has the child specifically requested and/or asked for, if anything. Also, what did you have in mind for the amount requested.

We are requesting support for a kinship/relative home who accepted placement of 2 sibling teenagers despite already having 5 children in their home; 4 of which are grandchildren they have guardianship of. They are in need of a twin mattress and a blanket/comforter. They have a frame and sheet set. One of the children came with no clothing whatsoever and still only has 1 pair of jeans at this time. He is size 29/30 in pants. The child has expressed he has never been able to pick out his own clothing for school so if a gift card could be provided it would be ideal, but any items would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, the family has expressed some stress regarding transportation needs due to several initial medical appointments for the child. If any amount could be provided through a fuel card I feel we would increase the likelihood of maintaining placement through this initial adjustment period. Thanks in advance for any help!
