We have a young, single mother of 3 children (ages 1, 4 and 5). She is experiencing unstable housing and financial stress. The mother is a victim of domestic violence and is trying to keep her children sheltered and safe from harm. The mother has been residing with the maternal grandmother in a single unit apartment with the children. The MGM put the mother and children out on yesterday and stole the mother’s food stamps from her EBT card. The mother is not able to purchase any food for herself and the children. She was able to get a room in Hollywood through PATH and is awaiting placement in a DV shelter. DCFS and the agencies involved with this family are working tirelessly to find a residence the mother and children. The mother can be reached on her cell phone and the CSW is able to correspond with the mother accordingly. We are hoping that a donor will pick up this request and provide the family with a $300.00 grocery gift card or purchase food for the family so that the mother and children do not go hungry.

We have a mother who has a six-month old baby that is teething. The mother is very resilient and is thriving with all of her programs she is involved in. She is a domestic violence survivor and is using her experience to build and grow within her life. She is in therapy to address the concerns that brought her family to the attention of the Department. She is a domestic violence survivor. She is a good mother who truly cares for her daughter. During our meetings the baby is always smiling and giggling. Recently, the baby began teething and is in need of hypoallergenic-silicon weaning cups, baby spoons, feeding set, and food making system (NutriBullet). I am in hopes that some of these items can possibly make it to her.

This a grandmother caring for her 2yrs granddaughter and grandson 7yrs and 10yrs who are under DCFS, with her fixed income and the coast of living so high ,recently her care was in a hit and run when it was in parked, and since there was no witnessed the insurance would not cover the repairs, and being the only care she needed. she stated this really set me back financially,
My stove needs replacing. Only 2 burners are working. The refrigerator is freezing all the food they tried fixing it. They said it needed to be replaced.all my veggies and fruits got spoiled. I am sol provider and can”t afford to cove this two items

I am currently working with a single mother who is currently in the hospital about to give birth. Mother has a open case with her six year old daughter. Mother has successfully secured housing and is in complete compliance with all court orders. We are tying to prevent the Department from detaining the newborn. Mother needs to have basic necessities when the Department goes to the hospital. Mother has most of the items but not the car seat. Mother continues to work very hard to reunify with her daughter and is following all court orders and recommendations. The case put a financial strain on mother as she had to attend various classes throughout her dependency case and purchasing new items to prepare for the new baby. Mother would be grateful for any assistance , thank you in advance.

Father is receiving Family Reunification services for his young son. He is requesting assistance with purchasing a Tracfone BLU View 5 pre-paid phone from Target to communicate with child, caregivers and social worker. Father is currently unemployed and is financially struggling as a single parent.

This is a father with current child welfare involvement. Father has one child that is currently released in his care. The department has informed the father that he needs two dressers in order to prevent a cluttered home environment. If father is blessed with the two dressers, it will prevent the department from having concerns in the future and allow the father to move forward with the closing of his case. I am currently working with a 36-year-old female had a newborn infant 12 days ago. Client is successfully enrolled in Welcome Baby. Client is in urgent need for a car seat to take the baby to his appointment and able to move around easier. Client and her husband live in a small home with client's parents and her 3 children. They are going through financial hardship and have no means to purchase a car seat . Current non-minor dependent recently moved into an apartment with his dog. He isn't able to work right now due to an injury so he is tight on cash. He needs a couch and refrigerator. He would be much more comfortable with those items and could focus on healing properly.

Mother and her two girls, aged 9 and 5, are starting over. There was trauma in the family, which caused the mother harm. She took advantage of therapy and this family is now living in a smaller, one bedroom unit. They are happy to have each other and would appreciate any items from their list. One of the girl's favorite color is purple and the other child likes pink and tiffany blue.

Mother has requested learning games for her twin daughters. The mother is in a group home trying to reunify with her daughters. The mother stated that these learning toys could be used during her visits with her daughter, so she could also interact with them.

We are working with a courageous single mother who has recently completed rehabilitation services, overcome homelessness, and has been sober for almost a year. She has successfully secured stable housing in Los Angeles and has been reunified with her young son—a huge milestone in her journey. While she was able to obtain a bed, she is still in need of some essential household items to help her create a safe, stable, and welcoming home for her child. She is in need of a kitchen table and chairs and a dresser. Meeting this request would help provide dignity, comfort, and a fresh start for this resilient family.
