Hello! Tulsa County recently removed a 13 year old female who will be staying in a Claremore, Rogers County foster home. This child was removed due to abandonment and was not allowed to take any clothing with her. We have found some items for her but it would mean a great deal to this child to have something to claim as her own.
She is sweet, kind, and when you first meet her she lights up the room. She has hopes and dreams to become a forensic pathologist and loves all animals. She enjoys the color pink. When speaking with her she believes that the size clothing that she wears is around a size Small-Medium in shirts and size 0-3 in pants. She is currently wearing a 14/16 in children sizes that are a little small. She also wears a size 7.5 in shoes. She is such a fantastic kid. I know with the communities help it would be a great encouragement to help her with these needs.
We as a community can help make this child feel loved and know that she is not in this alone. Thank you for all your assistance!

I have a mom on my caseload who was in a severe domestic violent relationship and has since left that relationship. She has been diligently working her plan and correcting the conditions to make her home safe for her and her kids who are now placed back in her home. Mom is employed full-time, however due to the adjustment of the children in the home and her having to take off a few hours a week to attend counseling along with extra expenses, finances have been strained and she is short on paying her rent that is due June 5th. The full rent amount is $800, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Single parent of three is working two jobs to try to make ends meet and needs our community’s assistance with paying off an old utility balance in order to turn on utilities at a safer home in our community. Mom has twin boys, age 9, and a daughter, age 13. Mom is working to improve her employment opportunities and income by engaging in training at one of her jobs. She communicates well with our OKDHS staff and is transparent about her past. Mom is making better choices in her life and now gets to see how these choices affect her family in positive ways. Would you or your family be able to help with a portion of this utility bill? Mom and the Child Welfare department appreciate any assistance you are able to provide to improve this family’s ability to get back on their feet and to be independent.

A family is preparing for reunification with their 4 year old baby girl. The parents are having a difficult time with finance. The parents are experiencing barriers that are preventing them to reunify with their baby girl. The parents have applied for multiple apartments. Due to having an overdue balance in their previous apartment complex, they are getting denied. The parents are living in a Motel, that is costing them $300 a week. The parents cannot afford the hotel cost this week and will be sleeping in their vehicle. If anyone could help with contributions for the motel this week, mom and dad would be able to save over time to pay off their balance at the previous apartment complex. Their baby girl will not be able to reunify permanently with mom and dad at a motel. The parents would be grateful for any contributions to help them pay for the motel that they are staying in.

We have a teenager that really needs some help to keep herself focused and to be able to apply a coping skill for her, which is music. Music is what helps her but she has nothing to listen to her music with. We have been told that others have MP3 players. The teenager would really appreciate to have a MP3 player so she can use that coping skill.

We have a kinship placement that is doing their best to make all appointments and family time for the children. Kinship is a single income household. I would like to gift the family with a gas card to help with making the counseling appointments and other necessary doctor appointments. This will relieve some stress of the kinship placement.
