Family is in need of A/C home unit, family was in the process of getting repairs fixed in the home but had put a pause on those repairs because of the A/C unit went out. This is a home unit not a window unit needed. The value needed is actually $5000 estimate.

This request is being made on behalf of a single mother of four children who were scheduled to move into an apartment complex in mid-April. When moving in, the family noted a foul odor throughout the apartment and discovered large areas of the carpeting covered in animal urine. After pulling up the carpeting and padding, it appears that large portions of the carpet, padding, and subfloor are stained by urine and possible mold to the degree that Stanley Steamer declined to clean the carpeting. The apartment complex has refused to replace the carpet and padding and has told the family they can pay to replace the carpet or they can have their security deposit and rent already paid back. The family has no other place to live, must be out of the current home on May 31, and has an exemplary record of past tenancy in our community.

An older woman has recently taken in a small baby, and is in need of assistance with feeding and caring for the child. Due to a lack of established custody, it is difficult for the caretaker to obtain benefits for the child. By assisting now, it allows time to strengthen this placement, without the child having to enter foster care.

A mother of four, is at imminent risk of losing her housing due to a delinquent water utility account. A lease violation notice was issued on March 2, 2025, advising the tenant of the need to resolve the outstanding balance and restore water service. Per the terms outlined in the lease violation, if water service is not paid and fully restored by June 1, 2025, eviction proceedings will be initiated. The tenant has sought financial assistance through local organizations and was informed that a pledge would be made on her behalf. However, as of the current date, no pledge or payment has been applied to the account. • Amount pass due: $342.77 • May bill (due May 21, 2025): $114.47 • Total amount currently due: $457.24 Immediate intervention is necessary to prevent displacement and further hardship for this family. Mom has moved into a new home. During home visit it was noted that the children in the home do not have beds. Mom was informed that the children have to have beds in the home to meet their needs. Mom does not have a lot of money left due to moving into the home. DSS is asking for help with beds for the three children. Thanks

I am reaching out on behalf of a single mother who is currently in need of assistance with her vehicle. She is a dedicated mother of six children, ages 12, 10, 9, 6, 4, and one-month-old, and she relies heavily on her vehicle to meet the daily needs of her family. The vehicle in question, a 2005 Chevy Tahoe, is currently not running as of May 12, 2025, due to an issue with the fuel pump. Additionally, the air conditioning is no longer functioning, which is becoming increasingly difficult, especially with the warmer months ahead. Most urgently, the mother needs the vehicle to transport her one-month-old to critical doctor’s appointments, as well as for other essential errands and tasks.

Given the current situation, any assistance with labor or financial support for the repair costs would be incredibly appreciated. The family is in a challenging position, and your help could make a significant difference in their ability to manage their day-to-day responsibilities.

Mom staying at Kingston Inn w/ boys & father of unborn child; $325 per week. She’s 4.5 months pregnant. No job. No transportation. Paying child support & Kingston Inn, so money is tight. She’s not receiving child support as the father of her boys is in jail. I gave her an application for SNAP & Childcare.

Mom needs diapers (size 7), wipes, baby gate, mattress (boys popped their air mattress), toys/activities for boys in limited space. She would LOVE them to each have a Leap Frog, but that’s a long shot. 😊

Single mother of child under a year-old needs financial assistance with her vehicle tags and registration. She recently purchased the vehicle and since has had to make several repairs to it as it has had several different mechanical issues. This mother is currently enrolled in a recovery court program for substance use challenges and relies heavily on having a vehicle for transportation and participation in the program. She also as previously stated has a small child so reliable and legal transportation is a must here as well. She has been able to try to manage all the repairs herself which has left her with little income. Other financial resources have been exhausted with little success. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Student is in need of an eye exam to determine need for glasses. She is struggling to see the front of the classroom. If glasses are needed a referral will be made to the Lions club to assist with this. This family is Spanish speaking.

Current CPS case open concerning Mother who had substance exposed child. Child is currently placed with Grandmother, and Father has filed for custody. Father wants to be able to pick up child for visitation but needs a car seat for the infant along with a crib for his home. Any thing to help out would be appreciated. Thanks

Single mother in need of groceries for her 2 children after there was fraudulent activity of her SNAP benefits leaving her with no ability to provide her children with food. This was confirmed by DSS employees. There are no known food allergies.

The mother is currently depressed. She has dogs in the home that have used the bathroom inside, causing the house to smell terrible. Mother got an eviction notice, and she has until the end of the month to clean it and get out. Her vacuum also recently broke. Children are currently placed out of the home due to the condition of the home. It is very cluttered, there is trash, and just over all needs to be cleaned. Mother would appreciate any type of cleaning supplies, bleach, wipes, vacuum, trash bags, etc.
