Hi Community, We're reaching out for your support to help remove a transportation barrier for a mom who is working hard on her permanency plan. Unfortunately, she does not have a reliable means of transportation. We're kindly requesting a donated bus pass to support her in attending visits with her daughter and appointments with treatment providers. These family visits are crucial; they help strengthen the parent-child bond and greatly increase the chances of reunifying families. Any support you can offer is deeply appreciated. A mother is in need of assistance with her electric bill and rent due to an unexpected circumstance. Mom's roommate is needing to vacate their shared residence due to her own mental health emergency and this situation has also caused mom to lose her job. Mom is needing help with the following bills: electric due on 6/27/2025 totaling $123.33, and rent due on 7/1/2025 totaling $760.00. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. OKDHS is working a prevention case with a family with 3 young children and an older child. The older child had been having issues of running off to friends houses and not communicating with the mother. With services in the home, the child is doing much better and is communicating well with the mother. However, as part of this mothers household bedtime routine, she does not allow screen time in the evening. This has frustrated the older child who has nothing to do before he goes to sleep. This child reported that he enjoys reading but does not have any books due to the family's financial situation. He stated that he greatly enjoys the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. OKDHS is asking for help with providing this child several more of his favorite books to help occupy his mind this summer as he has free time after summer school. Single father of 6 children had three of his tires slashed and needs assistance getting them replaced in order to better take care of his children and home.

Brother and Sister need some shoes and undergarments. Their father is incarcerated and mother is currently absent. They are shy and are wearing items that do not fit them appropriately. New clothes would help boost their confidence and comfortability in their new home! Needing at least 1 pair of boy shoes size 10.5, 5 boy's underwear sizes 5-6, at least 3 boy outfits size 5T, and at least 2 pairs of girl's sport bras size medium.

A child was recently placed with her family from out of state through interstate compact for the placement of children (ICPC). This child ran out of her medication and has been without for nearly a week. The foster family has gotten the prescription filled but Soonercare will not fill the prescription because it was written by a doctor out of state. The foster parents took the child to Urgent Care to get a new prescription, but they cannot write a prescription for a psychiatric medication. The foster family has an appointment to have the child seen and get the prescription filled, but in the meantime, they need to fill it out of pocket. They are not receiving payment for this child at this time.

A family of seven is in need of assistance to get their utilities turned back on. Father has struggled to get a job after the family relocated to Claremore from Tulsa. Mother had a job until losing it due to car issues. Children are 13, 11, 9, 2, and 6 months. Parents are doing their best to start over in a new town but are struggling. Assisting the family will ensure the children have a safe home with utilities and cool air in the summer heat.

I am working with a kinship placement of a six year old. Foster mom would love to get him involved in the summer program offered by the Salvation Army this year but cannot afford the weekly payments ($85). This summer program is full time and offers a reading program, field trips, art and crafts, swimming, nature exploration, and more. Foster mom is requesting financial assistance with the weekly payment so her nephew can fully enjoy the summer!

I am working with a biological family of two. Mom and her two year old son are currently in trial reunification. Mom is in a vulnerable place right now but is working hard to establish her independence. She has begun working with a staffing company for employment and is actively seeking income based apartments or sober living for herself and her son. Perhaps the biggest barrier Mom has to achieving her independence is transportation, because she does not have a personal vehicle and cannot afford car payments. Lack of a personal vehicle greatly minimizes job opportunities and housing options that Mom is able to apply to and/or accept. Mom will not be able to afford a car payment and is not particular about the vehicle she drives, so if there is a vehicle out there that has been donated, Mom would be MOST grateful (and blessed!) to be the recipient of that vehicle. Foster parents are in need of assistance with a daycare enrollment fee for their almost-2-year-old cousin they have taken placement of. This one-time fee totals $80. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration!
