Help Strengthen a Bio Family

I’m helping a single mom of four who just moved into a new home. She’s facing health challenges and can’t manage her lawn. We’re hoping someone might be willing to mow her yard or donate a mower. This would help her avoid fines and save money she doesn’t have.

Help Reunify a Bio Family

DCS has had an open case with a family since 2023 where the children were removed. One of the children has been reunited with bio mom on a trial home visit, she has another child who comes home to start trial home visit later this Month, and she just gave birth to another baby girl. Mom is doing really well and also purchased beds and toys for the kids coming home but purchasing the beds financially hit her hard, especially just having a new baby to also care for. Mom stated the only thing she needs for when her other child comes home is a dresser but she does not have the financial means to purchase one. Mom has everything needed for the baby but stated the only thing she does not have is a baby bath. When CarePortal was mentioned to her she was so excited and stated she would be extremely grateful for any assistance to show her kids she has a safe and happy home.

Help Make a Kinship Placement

A family of 6 was recently separated from their mother due to inadequate home resources. The siblings, have been in various placements, but separated from each other. Two of the youngest boys, 11 and 12 have recently been disrupted from their long term placement. Kinship placement of their brother (14) has come forward and is willing to make accommodations to help with placement of the two boys. Both of the kiddos are hilarious, bright spirited children, they love being with their family and feel safe with their older brother. To make this placement possible, they need beds. For the three siblings to live comfortably together we are needing help with a bunk bed (twin) and another twin bed for the oldest child. The children have a strong bond together and if we can help with this request, we can maintain that bond closer than they have been able to.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing

Single mom with two teenage children who had two unexpected surgeries within a few months of one another. The time off from while she recovered has created financial challenges. She has been able to keep up with rent and we assisted with the bills she was unable to pay, but providing food for herself and her family has been a struggle. Visiting pantries wasn’t an option, while she recovered. The family would benefit immensely from help with groceries and household items, like a big shopping trip to get them caught up and ahead of running out.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

Family was displaced from previous address due to eviction in Fall 2024. From Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 family was displaced in various locations to include shelter and family homes. During that time family lost nearly all of daily items needed in household. Mom is working to reestablish herself and her children and could use any of the following items:

Living room furniture Dinette Table Set Deep Freezer Queen Bed Set Bedding Pots Pans Silverware Dishes Television (if there is one) BBQ grill (if there is one)

This is a large family - Mom has 6 children and one grandchild living with her. All items do not need to come together - she will be thankful for any items on the list so if only some items are available at a time from one location that is okay for her. She will take whatever from the list she is able to receive. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

I am working with a mother who is working to get her kids back in her care. She has a 10 year old girl and a 4 year old boy who are temporarily placed with family. Mother is in the middle of a divorce from the stepfather and has been waiting for approval for disability for two years (Crohn's Disease) but now that she has to support herself, she is going back to work and is in need of scrubs for her new job. She is asking for cargo or jogger scrub pants (size XL) and scrub tops (size XL) and scrub jackets (size XL). She is not allowed to have any bright colors. Also, she needs white or black tennis shoes, size 8.5 women. The shoes must be closed-toed. Thank you so much for your consideration!

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

A family would like help with securing affordable summer activities for their child/family. The family would like to attend the Monon Center to aid in childhood enrichment, memory making, family bonding, and family fun. The child is a 7 year old with Autism who LOVES swimming and play grounds. This would allow the child to socialize with peers his own age during the summer months and allow the family to have fun outings. The mother is physically disabled and the Monon Center is handicap accessible. The family's finances are a bit strained due to the mother being unable to work. A family pass for the entire summer would be ideal. The monthly rate is $107 for a family each month. The family would like a pass for approximately 3 or 4 months.
