Father of one of our children in foster care does not have a sim card for his phone. He works two jobs but does not make much money and asked for a Walmart Gift Card to purchase a $50 Smart Phone sim card so he can get his cell phone to work. He needs to be able to contact his lawyer, daughter and caseworker. He says that he has already paid ahead on the phone, so service would not be an issue.

This 14 year old boy has been in care for over two years. He bounced around a little, before finding stable placement with his siblings in March of 2021. He has an 8th grade field trip to Washington, DC coming up in April (with payment due by the end of the month). This youth is a great kid. Once he got into a stable and loving home, and was able to find the right dosage of medication, he has thrived. He does well in school, loves playing sports, and he has a very humble and kind personality. He would really like to go on this trip, and his foster family would really like for him to be able to join his classmates. They need some help to make this happen. The cost of the trip is $1,609, and that is a lot for the family to take on, especially since they have six other children in the home. So far, $500 has been donated toward this trip, and $1,109 remains. Any amount helps!

A mother and her 2-month-old child will be evicted from their apartment this Wednesday, January 25th. The mother went to court two weeks ago to see if they could get an extension. The leasing agent told them they could do an extension, but the eviction would be on their record, or they would have to leave by this Wednesday, and they wouldn't put it on their record. Mom chose to leave by the 25th. When mom chose this option, she believed she had some prospects on a place to move into. Now none of those prospects are available. Mom has been contacting the shelters to see if they can stay there but as of now nothing is available. Requesting a hotel room for a week until she can figure something out.

The two oldest children in the home are wrestling. Since moving to this home, the family was trying to find a way to help them meet people and feel welcome and also feel like they are doing well. Wresting has done this for them, this is the most successful placement they have had to date. They are also looking to adopt the children, so that is a very positive outcome for them. They are taking first place in their meets and are really excelling, so they are able to continue on to higher competition. The family needs help to pay fees in order to make this happen for them. It is 200 per child, so 400 total and the family can't afford that on top of the other children in the home and their fees, but wants to make this happen for them.

This father is a hard working parent , who has been given custody of his young child for safety reasons. The child is thriving and healing , the father has a full time job, and a vehicle that is no longer drivable ,the vehicle has engine or transmission problems that would cost more to repair than to just get another car. The father uses the vehicle to take his child to therapy , school and also to get to his employment site. We are hoping to raise 3,500.00 dollars so he can buy a working vehicle. Thank you so much. Updated on January 23, 2023 by an Agency Worker
We would also like to add that if someone has a dependable car they would like to donate to this family, please let us know. Your donation will greatly improve this family's situation, relieve a great deal of stress on this single father, and put dad and child on the road to success. Thank you for your consideration and all you do to make a difference in the lives of families!

An expecting mother of 5 is in need of a car seat. She has a high-risk pregnancy which has caused her to be unable to work and unable to afford a car seat. Hello! I have two siblings who were placed in foster care last year in April due to parents' substance use and mental health concerns. The kids were placed with a family friend and they have been AMAZING in helping to take care of him and his sister while they are in foster care. One thing that the family has been struggling with was being able to afford to pay the kids' activity fees to make sure that they still are able to live like regular children and participate in their regular activities while the kids are in their care. The younger brother has been participating in soccer and is SO talented at it, and his older sister participates in theatre and theater camps. Anything would be so appreciated in helping this family out!

Three siblings have been significantly acting out after visits with parents and there are concerns for them hurting one another. With a 2-level home, foster parents are unable to see the children when they are in their room and need a baby monitor with video capability to ensure the children's safety while they are cooking dinner or are in other areas of the home. This need is urgent as the children have become very physically aggressive with one another and others in the household as well.

We are currently working with an 8 year old child who is diagnosed with several mental health concerns. She has hallucinations and struggles with feeling safe in any environment. The family is very caring and working with her to help her in every possible way. She also has mental health services and treatment. While working with the family, we were able to identify 3 tools they could use to help the child feel safer. Both parents are working but with normal expenses and extra expenses for the child, they are living paycheck to paycheck. I am asking for help to purchase these needed items. I've listed the items that can be purchased through Amazon by any donor or I will happily order these with any donations received. Thank you for considering this request and for all of your support for our families and workers!! Child needs a light switch for the hallway in her home. She is afraid of the dark and being alone. The family rents and cannot make any renovations so we found a light switch that links to the actual light and doesn't require wiring: ($19.99 and tax). Child needs a dimmable night light for her bedroom and bathroom so that she can control the amount of light in her room but have a reliable light during the night: ($17.99 and tax) Child needs a camera in her room to record her activity at night for her therapist and psychiatrist: ($29.99 and tax)

This child is a 10th grade student at webster and currently at Buchanan County Academy (BCA). She is getting ready to go on home passes and will be finishing up her program with BCA in the next 6-8 weeks. The juvenile officer indicated that she has to have a bed at home before she can start her home passes. Father shared he does not have the money to purchase her a new bed as they had a bed bug incident with her inviting friends over and friends bringing it in the child's bedroom. Father reported while she has been in BCA he has made sure to get rid of any and all furniture in the home that had bugs and used his money to clean the home. Father is a single parent and struggles to pay bills and is often late on utilities because he rotates the bills he pays each month so they don't get shut off. He reported he does not have the money to purchase her a new bed and really needs help so she is able to come home from BCA.

Who: Foster mom, kinship to the child, and the child, 13 years old. Why: This kinship placement is working beautifully to keep the child safe, drug free and attending school. The child reports feeling cared for, safe and wanted in this placement. The physical home of the family does not qualify for licensing. The three month of non-licensed kinship placement expired in December. The family is looking for a bigger home that will pass licensing, but cannot move until the lease expires in April. January - April will not provide the monthly maintenance payment for the care of the child. The family is NOT asking the child be removed, the Foster Mom is diligent in keeping the kiddo safe and wants her to remain in her home ,headed towards Guardianship. Money is tight and the stress of it is causing concern for the ability to have fuel to attend appointments, get back and forth to school and purchase healthy food. (Child is recovering from severe medical needs caused by drug use and on a high calorie diet including high protein items.) This Foster Mom is proud and is uncomfortable accepting handouts. I do not want to embarrass her but do want to assure our kiddos has the nutrients she needs to successful heal as prescribed by her doctors while relieving some of the stress on the family each month until they can be licensed. What: Request on behalf of the family; four $100 gift cards to Aldi, one for each month; January, February, March and April 2023
