Story
A family of 8 in Gladys has experienced a physical injury to the father, the main financial supporter of the home. The father had a fall and broke his leg in a few places along with his ankle. He had a rod and staples put in during a recent surgery and has a long road to complete recovery ahead of him. Dad used his PTO and does not qualify for short term disability from work. The mom of the family has increased her hours to bring home financial support for the family and she is caring for the 6 children while also caring for her husband as he recovers. The impact on the family has been tough but manageable up to this point. The mom of the home had an EMT course she was starting this month that was almost put on hold due to the families needs. However she has stepped out in faith and began the course and is trusting God to continue to provide for their household. The outstanding need is their mortgage due by the end of January. The impact on their finances has been difficult but the parents are determined to keep things as steady for their kids as possible. Any financial support toward the mortgage will help mom continue on her education path and strengthen their home. Mom would also appreciate help with meals. If any family or church would like to make meals, freeze meals or buy frozen meals for the home it would be especially helpful on evenings mom will go to her class and dad cares for children alone.
