Caseworker is working with a family where the Grandparents took custody of their 3 grandkids. The grandfather passed away in late January leaving just the grandmother to raise the children alone. The grandmother is needing assistance paying this months’ electricity bill. She is working through the survivor benefits process and should start receiving additional benefits in May. Any help with this situation is greatly appreciated as the family is still mourning the loss of the grandfather.

We have a natural mother in need of some personal care items, including deodorant, socks, shoes (women's size 9), tampons, and general hygiene products. This mom is also in need of transportation for family time, as she is experiencing homelessness. This mom would benefit from bus passes, Uber cards, or a bicycle to help remove this barrier. This mom would benefit from an alarm clock, as she expressed she has trouble waking up in the morning for family time with her two children. These two children are in a kinship placement, and their foster parents are in need of gas cards to help with transportation. Any help is appreciated!!

Hall county is serving a family with a mother and 3 children (6,3,1) with the mother struggling with substance abuse and Housing instability. We were able to have the mother accepted into a rehab facility with her 3 children last week. In order to stay in the facility with the 3 children, she has to be able to provide for groceries for her and the children. The mother does not have income due to not being currently employed. We would like to ask assistance with 2 grocery gift cards (2x $ 100.00) to assist buying grocery for the family so the other can continue receive services at the rehab facility.

This family has been engaging with the Department as a kinship placement. As the case continues to progress, the family is looking at being a more permanent placements for the kids. With this recent decision from caregivers, the family is working on adjusting their new responsibilities and are hoping for some help with taking on two more children in their home. We have a foster family of 7 with a baby due on May 3rd who is in need of help deep cleaning their home. They have a house full of teenage boys who do a good job on chores BUT they are teenage boys after all... These parents would love if an individual or group would be interested in doing a super deep clean so they can have a healthy, clean home for their baby's arrival. The weekend of April 26-27th would be ideal.

We have a family in our community that urgently needs help. They are currently behind on their rent because the mother has had her hours cut due to serious health issues. We want to take a moment to celebrate the growth of Sherry, Cameron, Kaya, and Kennedy over the past 8 months, made possible by your generous support. Cameron was juggling two part-time jobs and feeling uncertain about his future. He secured a full-time job at an extermination company and gained confidence and developed new skills. Kaya was a college freshman working at a sandwich shop. Since then, she started a new job at the YMCA in after-school childcare that has brought her joy in student teaching and she bought a car. Kennedy was a high school junior working at a sandwich shop; she has enjoyed school events like homecoming and winter formal. Staying in their home this last year allowed her to complete her childhood there and graduate high school. Sherry was facing financial stress, managing transportation for the kids with only one car. Over the last several months, she took a temporary job but as of recent she now offers in home care to another senior for a few days a week. Most importantly, thanks to you, she has had the time to guide and prepare her grandkids for their next big step in life. Their next big step has arrived, their home of 13 years is being sold, and they must move out by June 31st. We are seeking families or a senior with a spare bedroom(s) who can help them stay in the community. If you know of any housing opportunities for Sherry or the kids, please reach out. Summit, one of the daughter's of a Summit member has had a very difficult few months. She has been sick for several months, and she moved into a rental duplex that has issues with efficiency. With the last freeze, it was difficult to keep the duplex warm without running the heat continuously. She is trying to get caught up, but she has a balance due on Monday of $537 (we received this last week, so it is my fault I'm just now sending this out), and her rent is due on the 1st (which she will pay).
