Parents are currently waiting on their tax refund to ensure a down payment and monthly rent on a new apartment. We are asking for assistance for the family for a 5 day stay at the delux inn located in Warsaw which will keep the oldest child in his school district.

Stabilize Housing Insecurity

We want to take a moment to celebrate the growth of Sherry, Cameron, Kaya, and Kennedy over the past 8 months, made possible by your generous support. Cameron was juggling two part-time jobs and feeling uncertain about his future. He secured a full-time job at an extermination company and gained confidence and developed new skills. Kaya was a college freshman working at a sandwich shop. Since then, she started a new job at the YMCA in after-school childcare that has brought her joy in student teaching and she bought a car. Kennedy was a high school junior working at a sandwich shop; she has enjoyed school events like homecoming and winter formal. Staying in their home this last year allowed her to complete her childhood there and graduate high school. Sherry was facing financial stress, managing transportation for the kids with only one car. Over the last several months, she took a temporary job but as of recent she now offers in home care to another senior for a few days a week. Most importantly, thanks to you, she has had the time to guide and prepare her grandkids for their next big step in life. Their next big step has arrived, their home of 13 years is being sold, and they must move out by June 31st. We are seeking families or a senior with a spare bedroom(s) who can help them stay in the community. If you know of any housing opportunities for Sherry or the kids, please reach out. Her car is essential to her present work, and to her active pursuit of a fulltime job. She has been struggling, but feels certain once they get past this car payment, she will be on firm footing. She appreciates all the community has been doing for her. This request is for a 16 year old boy who is currently living in a independent living place where he is currently learning skills to be able to take care of himself once he ages out of foster care. This child is a very soft spoken well mannered young man who takes directions very easily never ask for anything and always has a smile on his face. This child who has been in foster care since he was 10 years old works very hard in school and makes A's and B's. He participates in extracurricular sports activities such as football and concert choir. The child stated that he is going to need a suit for his concert choir this coming school year but also would like to have one for his prom. The child also stated that he would need new football cleats as he believes that he has grown out of the ones that he has. This request is to buy the child a new suit for both prom and concert choir and if there's enough a new pair of cleats. There is not a child that deserves it more as he works hard and accomplishes so much as a young man and does not let his situation define who he is.
