Story
A young child and their elderly caretaker live in a rural area and have a chronic, severe lice infestation. The caretaker has treated the child's lice several times with at-home treatments, but the lice continue to be an issue, and the family is now in need of intensive treatment from Miracles on Lice, an organization that specializes in chronic infestations.
Recently, a schoolteacher reported they removed over 30 live lice from the child's head in a 15-minute period. School staff are beginning to report that the presence of lice is so severe that they are unable to educate the child properly as she is distracted with the itching on her head. School staff also shared, two other children in the classroom contracted lice and they are worried that other students and staff will also be affected by the lice.
While the child and caretaker receive treatment, they should stay at a nearby hotel as it is a multi-day process by Miracles on Lice staff and the home should be vacant as the lice will not survive without a host.
