ACS is working with a single mom with 5 children who has been living in a DV situation. The father is no longer in the home and the mother has asked for a safety transfer. She has no furniture and everything they have is packed in a living room as she wats for the transfer. Mom and the children are sleeping in one room and have no air conditioning. She is desperate for some relief for her and the children and is asking for one a/c so they can sleep more comfortably. The children range from 10 months old to 14 years old. The children also need summer clothes.

one of our church members car was repossessed this weekend after already having been charged off months ago. they are requesting help with the amount of $5,000. This is the amount we were behind in payments, plus the fees to get it out of the impound lot.

KINSHIP. Caregiver is taking care of her three grandchildren who were just placed in her home. Even though she employed due to the high cost of living she needs assistance with beds, mattress, dressers, and a sofa. She is trying her best to provide the children with the essentials and ensure they have a comfortable home. By aiding with these items, it will maintain the kin placement and assist the caregiver with focusing on other expenses. It will also allow the children to sleep comfortably and be in a thriving environment. The caregiver is currently employed, and she plans to maintain after this need is met, because she will have relief from the expenses above.

He initially received monthly compensation, but these have since ceased. The caregiver works part-time, which has created a financial strain. Given the circumstances, she is seeking assistance to obtain a twin bed, mattress and a dresser for her three-year-old granddaughter. This support would improve their living situation and help maintain a stable, comfortable environment for the child. This support will prevent removal ensuring that the child is provided with a fully furnished bedroom, thereby ensuring both privacy and safety. Providing a designated, well-equipped personal space is essential to the child’s well-being and is a critical factor in meeting the requirements for maintaining the child’s placement. The caregiver is currently employed part-time and receives a monthly payment for the child under her care. Her boyfriend is actively seeking employment and hopes to secure a position soon. In an effort to meet her monthly rent, she attempted to work for Eats and Uber Transportation, but it was not enough to sustain her household. She eventually exhausted her savings to cover essential expenses, which significantly impacted her financial stability. The situation worsened when the caregiver became ill and was unable to return to work, while also coping with the loss of her husband’s job. She has now returned to work but is still trying to recover financially and catch up on the missed payments. Her rent is $1,950.00, with a total of $5,850.00 owed for the 3 months. A Community Based Organization has covered a portion of this balance, but she still needs assistance to cover the remaining. She has an agreement with her landlord to make a full payment for the current month, and going forward, she will make payments of $500 on the 15th of each month to lower her balance. With this support, she will be able to catch up on her rent and provide a safe and stable home for the children. This assistance will offer the children peace of mind and a sense of security, knowing they have a stable place to call home. The caregiver does not receive any financial assistance and relies on her earnings to support the household. Once this need is met, she will be able to resume making her monthly rent payments on time.

KINSHIP. A caregiver currently undergoing the Resource Family Approval (RFA) process needs assistance with purchasing items for the children she plans to care for. Before the children can be placed in her home, she needs a crib, a dresser, and two twin mattresses. The caregiver already has two children of her own and is preparing to take in four additional children. Currently, she is not receiving any financial support for the children. Assistance with securing these items would significantly ease her financial burden and allow her to allocate her limited resources toward other essential needs for the children. This will ensure a safe and stable home for the children. Currently, the kin caregiver receives financial support from the government. She is currently receiving cash aid and Cal Fresh. The caregiver is committed to providing both financial and emotional support for the children by utilizing available community resources and continuing to receive assistance through cash aid. As this is her first time serving as a caregiver—especially to four children—she simply needs a helping hand to get started. Once she obtains the necessary items, she will be able to redirect her limited resources toward other essential needs, including food and clothing for the children.

A young family of 2 children ages 1 and 7 years old are requesting a dryer as they moved into a house from an apartment. The couple have been here from Venezuela for about 2.5 years and help out at Centro Cristiano a Las Naciones with leading music. They moved from an apartment which had a washer and dryer and now they need to provide for their own. The father is looking for work and does odd jobs to help pay for rent, bills, food, clothing, etc. A dryer will help mom take care of her kids so that they will be able to attend school and help their hygiene. There is a 30-ish year-old young man living at apartments in Castle Rock. He is paralyzed from the chest down and in a wheelchair. He was granted special permission to be at these apartments even though he doesn't qualify due to his age. He receives food from Help & Hope on a monthly basis when they visit him. His family lives in Elizabeth and has even less money than this young man. It is noted that sometimes he will give his money to his mom/dad so they can eat.

Help & Hope has been going to this gentleman's apartment on Wednesdays when they deliver food to him, and have been making his bed and doing light chores for him.

We have a single mom with her two children and their pet that we just moved into an apartment, but the landlord wants a pet deposit and will not waive it although he did discount it. Any small donations will be greatly appreciated
