Family of five, three are children, lost their home in the Eaton Canyon Fire. They are still living in a hotel. They have needed to change hotels 4 times since the fires. The week after the fire, the mother had to be rushed to the hospital where they discovered a blood clot in her leg and lung.

With all of these challenges, the father has been trying to keep them afloat from his job, but it is all costing them more out of pocket than they anticipate, especially with the additional hospital stay.

They are requesting financial assistance to help them be able to buy groceries and other essential needs while they are still in the hotel.

This request is for a mother and child that are in need of two towels for bathing. They recently found housing after living in their car. The mother is working hard on getting things they need and she stated that 2 towels are desperately needed. They know it's small ask but it's a big deal for them as funds are very limited and they track every dollar spent. Thank you and any help is appreciated.

The family in need of assistance includes a legal guardian who is caring for 2 children, a boy in middle school and a girl in elementary school. She took in the children and was financially responsible for them for several years before receiving any assistance. They are on a tight fixed income as the guardian is retired, but she has recently returned to work to try to keep up with the family's bills. The children's dressers are all broken/in disrepair. The faces of the drawers are missing, some don't pull out, etc. Therefore, they are not able to utilize the full storage capacity. Some clothing has to be stored in garbage bags in the room. The legal guardian is hoping to find some new or gently used dressers to replace the ones currently in the children's bedroom. The hope is that this will help alleviate some of the clutter due to the better storage. The children would benefit from the organization in their bedroom. Tall dressers would be preferable due to the space. The guardian asked if it was possible to get 4 new dressers (2 to put into the closet and 2 to be in the main bedroom space) but would appreciate anything she can get that is in working order. She doesn't have the money to purchase new ones and has been unsuccessful in finding any other donated ones. Thank you for your consideration to help this family!

A mother with four children who was homeless for over a year found housing and is in need of two bunk beds, mattresses, and four bedding sets. The mother and children are very happy to have stability after being homeless for so long. Your help is greatly appreciated.

We have been offered an exciting opportunity for kids from our foster residences to present an art exhibition at Mark Arts from June 21-July 26. Four boys from Kinloch Price Boys Ranch (KPBR) and two girls from Wren House have agreed to be the featured artists for this exhibit - with a theme of WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE A TEEN IN FOSTER CARE. We'll be creating 5-6 collaborative pieces that they all work on, as well as 6 individual collections in their own styles. We need all colors and a large quantity of acrylic paints, lots of colors for spray paints, brushes and pencils. For everything else, we plan to reuse and redesign existing materials. Second Blessings Thrift Store has graciously donated a selection of pictures and canvases for us to paint over and reuse. And we are gathering scrap wood pieces and other unusual scrap materials that can be transformed into art through the hands of our kids. We also have a special request for an old door from one of the kids if someone happens to have one to donate. Some of the comments heard at our first art workshop this week: "I used to be so creative, but I haven't had a chance lately" (new girl at Wren). When asked what he was drawn to when creating art, a boy at KPBR said "Monsters". And when asked further why he was drawn to that, he replied "because I've met so many of them in the system." We're so excited and honored to give these kids a chance to showcase their art in a beautiful public setting like Mark Arts.

Due to illness, the child's mother was unable to work and fell behind on her rent. She needs $400 to complete her rent for this month.

Recently, this mother made the courageous decision to leave a long-term, mentally abusive marriage to seek a better environment and home for her 11-year-old son and herself. She has also started taking college classes to get her degree to provide future support. She is participating in Pathway's DivorceCare where she is building supportive relationships as she starts this new journey with her son. She is moving into her own apartment and is needing some essential items. Their favorite color is any color of blue. Her son is also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Her bedroom set is the queen size and his is the full size.

A family in our church had a five year old girl placed with them yesterday. She arrived with very little and needs basic items. She will be moving schools and the family has asked that she have some new items to ease this transition, along with every day items.

Our foster family of 7 with a baby on the way is in need of a meal train the week their baby is born (due date is May 3rd). We're hoping to have 5+ people sign up to each bring a large meal (10 servings) the week the baby is born. This will make a tremendous difference for this family as they transition into life with a newborn.

A father has recently gotten housing and needs items for him and his son to be comfortable in their home. A few items are listed but the apartment needs all the basics for living. Financial assistance is also welcome to help purchase needed items.
