Story
I’m reaching out on behalf of a local single mother who is facing a particularly challenging time. After losing her husband five years ago, she has been raising three high school-aged sons on her own, one of whom has severe autism and requires in-home tutoring due to behavioral needs.
The family has just been informed they must leave the home they've lived in for 15 years. Thankfully, the mother has found a new place, but the transition is overwhelming—emotionally and financially.
One of the most urgent needs is their van, which is currently in disrepair. It is in need of a leak inspection, new belts, and a Tie Rod replacement. This vehicle is crucial, not just for daily errands and appointments, but because it’s the only form of transportation her autistic son is comfortable with due to its familiarity. She has a repair quote but cannot cover both the cost of fixing the van, the new home deposit, and beds for her and her son. They are currently sleeping on moldy mattresses from a flood that happened in their current home. That may need to be a separate request.
We are humbly asking for your support—whether through direct assistance, referrals, or shared prayers—to help this devoted mother keep her family stable during this time of change. Thank you for everything that you do to help our students!
