Hello! There is a 17 year old girl that is pregnant and in need of some items for her unborn baby boy due to her not working and living with her boyfriend's family. The child needs a car seat, pack and play, and clothes (newborn). she is doing her best to provide a safe and nurturing environment for her baby but lacks the resources to meet basic needs. Any support or donations would make a meaningful difference during this challenging time.

In our Thomas Elementary community, there is a family facing a heavy burden. A mother, who works tirelessly to keep her family afloat, has had a challenging year. Just nine months ago, her husband was diagnosed with cancer and given a heartbreaking prognosis—six months to live. On top of that, her daughter faced her own health scare when a grapefruit-sized cyst turned out to be cancer-free, a small blessing amid the turmoil.

While she is the only one able to work, things took a turn for the worse when her daughter was out sick for over a week. Unfortunately, this coincided with their move to a new home, leaving the mother unable to work during a critical time. The family has fallen behind financially, and while the landlords have been understanding, they recently issued a three-day notice to vacate if their $1,600 deposit isn’t paid soon.

This family needs our support, both financially and emotionally. Even a small amount can make a significant difference. More than that, they need a community to rally around them during this tough time. Let’s come together to show them they’re not alone. Whether it’s sharing resources, offering words of encouragement, or lending a helping hand, we can make a difference in their lives.

We currently have two young sisters, aged 3 and 4, in foster care living with a non-relative caregiver. They were placed with her in mid-March after she noticed their need for additional attention at church and stepped in to provide support. Currently, the caregiver is not receiving a monthly board rate for the girls, she requires assistance with the Saturday daycare fee. While she has support from ELC for daycare from Monday to Friday, she is seeking help for Saturdays due to her work schedule. The caregiver is only looking for assistance for a few Saturdays until the board rate is finalized or until ELC can pick up the bill. She has expressed a strong desire to adopt the girls and is open to any additional support offered. Would you be willing to help this caregiver by providing assistance for a Saturday daycare so she can make it to work and make her 40 hours for the week? We have a refugee mom who is expecting a baby in May and she needs many things for the baby and for her home, including Baby bed, car seat, bed sheets, blankets, towels, stroller, diapers, wipes, clothes/baby, baby blanket.

A relative caregiver is in emergency need for a specialized car seat and harness for 2 year old, male she is caring for. The family is surviving on a single income who covers the basic necessities and caregivers 16 yr old child. The 2 year old child is autistic, extremely hyperactive/impulsive, significantly limited verbally, and has high-risk/self-harm behaviors, including property damage, hitting, throwing objects, tantrum, and physical aggression. The child also climbs out of the car seat and roams the car while the caregiver is driving, despite the caregiver appropriately securing the child. The child’s doctor also wrote a letter to express great concern for the child behaviors, safety risks, and need for a specialized car safety seat designed for his needs, which would allow him to be safely transported to his service appointments daily. Without the car seat and harness, the child is unable to receive the necessary services and the resource parent cannot safely transport him. The family has attempted to make the request through Regional Center, however, after 6 months of waiting, it was reported the request has not been approved and no further update is available. After surviving abuse and escaping her trafficker, this survivor has a chance to start a new life. Nine years ago, she became homeless after losing her job and being evicted with her young son. With nowhere stable to go, she sent her son to stay with a friend temporarily. During this vulnerable time, she fell into the hands of a trafficker. That same friend later convinced her to sign over guardianship of her child, which became permanent. After suffering a brutal assault at the hands of her trafficker, she was determined to break away and rebuild her life. Despite her securing employment, the cost of child support and housing costs, made reuniting with her son difficult. She entered the Orange County Rescue Mission, completed court-ordered therapy, parenting classes, and drug testing, earned her GED, and enrolled in college, all while fighting for custody for her son. Today, she has been approved for Section 8 housing and finally has a safe, stable apartment. However, before she can move in and receive custody of her son, she needs a few essential items: a refrigerator and a mattress. With your support, we can help provide these basics, and with them, restore hope, dignity, and the foundation for a fresh start for her and her son. There is a single foster mom who has had placement of a 14 year old hispanic child for almost 1 year now. She has her 15th birthday coming up, and foster mom is wanting to throw her a Quinceañera! She is working alongside other community partners, but wants to get her foster daughter the dress of her dreams and for her to get to have everything she wants at this party. We have a elderly member that has moved to Tulsa from another state. She was living with family that is also elderly and disabled. She has moved into an apartment with no furniture or supplies. We are working to assist her with getting a bed/bedding, sofa/chair, table & chairs, dishes. She is in need of items for the bathroom (towels, shower curtain, soaps). The apartment is totally unfurnished and any assistance you can provide will be a blessing to this senior member. Thank you for your assistance.

This need is for a family who has graduated from DHS. We have assisted this family about a year ago. The mother’s snap benefits were stolen and used in Pennsylvania. While she is waiting for assistance, she could use our help feeding her family (mom, dad, adult son, and baby who is 14 months old). Baby is eating finger foods and family can use items like canned goods, meat, etc.
