A 16-year-old in foster care is preparing for a life-changing move to reunite with their father and stepmother—finally heading to their forever home. While this moment is full of hope, it also comes with anxiety. After experiencing a devastating loss in the past where all of their belongings were lost, the idea of putting their things on a plane feels deeply unsettling.

To help ease this worry, we’re hoping to provide luggage tracking tags (like AirTags or similar tracking devices) for their multiple bags. Being able to see where their belongings are would bring immense peace of mind during an already emotional and overwhelming transition. If you can contribute funds or send a tracker directly, you’ll be offering more than just technology—you’ll be offering comfort, security, and a small sense of control in a big, uncertain moment.

I am reaching out with an urgent request on behalf of a family in immediate need of support. This family consists of a mother and her 13-year-old son, who, as of today, are without stable housing and will be sleeping in their car tonight. The young boy is on an IEP and is particularly vulnerable, as gets frightened easily and struggles with unfamiliar environments. We are respectfully requesting assistance to secure temporary shelter for them—ideally, hotel accommodations for at least four nights. The cost is approximately $70 per night. This support would provide them with a safe, stable space while we work to connect them with longer-term resources. Any help during this critical time would mean so much. One of our moms has been in and out of shelters, and recently gave birth in February to a sweet baby boy. Her family immigrated here from Venezuela and she has lived in and out of shelters with her mom and siblings. With her baby she is trying to find safe places for her baby while also balancing high school and looking after her younger siblings. She recently found somewhere to stay but needs some rent assistance for this place this month. She also recently finished her "maternity leave" from school and is back to high school with her baby. She needs to pump and so she is requesting a manual pump and pump bags as well. Thank you!

Hi! I am reaching out to the CarePortal network as our last event we had urgent requests for diapers and wipes from our teen parents. We are serving more parents than ever before (which I think Care Portal has contributed to as well because our capacity is bigger!) Our last event had 35 moms, 7 dads, and 43 babies - with our volunteers there was over 100 people! So we have some big needs! One of the girls also needs underwear and bras as she lives in a shelter and doesn't have the means to get undergarments - 34B Bra and Medium size underwear.

Hello! We are asking you to please help a foster home and kiddo by providing them with PediaSure. The child recently came into custody with special needs. He is seven years old with a food aversion, causing him to only eat PediaSure. The placement provider is unable to supply his meals/PediaSure. Volunteer Opportunity: Help Deliver Groceries to Pickerington Seniors and Residents with Disabilities

The Pickerington Area Resource Coalition seeks 9 dedicated volunteers to assist with monthly grocery deliveries for seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Pickerington community.

Our next delivery date is Thursday, May 1. Volunteers will pick up pre-packed grocery bags at Kroger (7833 Refugee Rd.) between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and deliver them to recipients' homes within Pickerington.

All names and addresses will be provided in advance. This is a recurring opportunity, taking place once a month.

An expectant mother is in need of basic items for a newborn due later this month April. The mother's community health coach requested a pack-n-play (bassinet), infant car seat, diapers, wipes. These items will allow the child safe transport and a safe sleeping environment. The diapers and wipes will supply the baby's needs for a few weeks. We still need funds for the CARSEAT and DIAPERS. A single mom recently moved from the shelter into her own apartment with her daughter with special needs. Her daughter is blind, autistic and has other complications from Optic Nerve hypoplasia. Mom states that she works but with her rent being $900 a month it has left her unable to provide a few necessary items. The home does not have a working a/c and high heat places the young child at risk of a stroke. A window unit could help provide comfort and wellbeing for the child. The home could use a few items including couch cover up as well as girls clothes size 10-12. Mom also stated that her daughter’s favorite item is an electric keyboard piano but she accidentally bumped into it and it broke. She has not been able to afford to buy a new or used one. A used one that someone could donate would be great! Any help with these few items would be greatly appreciated and significantly improve the life of a mom and child who have been through a lot.

We had a family of 10 come to us about 2 weeks ago. They had moved here from Arizona with housing lined out and a job. Unfortunatley the housing fell through 2 hours before they got to Oklahoma. They were forced to use the funds they had to live in a hotel. When that money ran out they came to us and we were able to put them up for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks the father started working and has found a 5 bedroom home locally but doesn't have the full amount for the deposit. They can move in as early as today but are missing that 1200.00. Thank you in advance for your faithfulness!
