We have a great opportunity to support a young family who is a huge blessing to our community! This family moved to Michigan from Texas in mid-2024 and Grace's Table has been the place where they've found connection and support. The 19-year-old mom and her daughter attend regularly and go above and beyond to care for other families around them! Recently, their only vehicle broke down. As the husband travels out of town with a crew for his construction job, mom and her 18-month-old daughter have been without transportation. As a transplant to West Michigan without family support, the isolation the mom and daughter are experiencing is not healthy. The couple were able to pay for some of the repairs needed, but need help to cover the remaining cost. They both work incredibly hard and we continue to see them share resources and encouragement at every turn. We ask your help in getting their car back on the road so she is able to attend medical appointments, support groups, and even do simple things like grocery shopping! They had an estimate completed for the repairs (brake and suspension work) and we are able to share that if needed. Thank you so much for your consideration!

A brother and sister are in need of new sneakers; their current pairs are too small and have holes in them. Unfortunately, their mother is experiencing significant health issues in tandem with housing insecurity. When times are stressful and money is tight it can be hard to make sure all of the basic needs are met. One of the things Brookside is excited to offer this spring is a milage club, where students run laps to earn points and prizes. Having a good pair of shoes is important all the time but especially when running! Both students are in 2nd grade and need a size Y4. If possible, one would like pink and one would like blue.

Child has been removed and is being placed with a relative in a different county. The relative does not have a car seat for the child and needs this to be able to be placement for the child. Having the car seat may help the child stay with a relative as opposed to foster care.

The father recently lost his job and is in need of a battery for his 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LT. The vehicle is a V6 with a side post battery. The father needs transportation so that he can look for employment. Auto Zone has a battery that will fit the vehicle that sells for $89.99 plus tax.

Bedford County - Family of 5 which includes three children. A home visit revealed some significant needs in the home as the family is going through some challenging times and is in need of support/resources. Father is employed at this time, however there is little left for food and other basic items. The school is assisting the family in connecting with local organizations for supports and are taking the necessary steps to receive available assistance. At this point, the school staff is working collaboratively to ensure basic items are gathered and is requesting some gift cards/financial support to be able to obtain the additional needs for the family that haven't been available through the donations.

Family is being reunited and has a new home. Working on gathering things to make it feel more like a home and help them get back on their feet. Starting with the beds. I have a full size bed for mom, but looking for twin size beds for each of the two boys. Mom has asked for pillows and I would love to find them bedding as well. Boys are into Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog but anything blue would work.

A single mother who is the full-time caregiver for her disabled daughter is struggling to pay her rent after her monthly payment went up. She has starting driving for DoorDash and is looking for other ways to earn income while caring for her child, but she has gotten behind. She needs $262 by May2nd to avoid eviction. Please consider helping this family.

Our church is working together with a family who was recently homeless and is getting back on their feet. For years they have been deeply invested in serving our community. The mother has been a constant source of support, providing food and childcare assistance to local churches, always giving selflessly to others.

We are asking for support to help this family thrive with groceries, summer clothes and shoes for the children, toiletries, laundry detergent, and a gas card. Please consider supporting this family.

Due to complications during delivery (e.g., including significant blood loss), the mother faces an extended recovery period. Without paid family leave, this has created financial strain on the household, leaving them approximately two months behind on rent.

This family would be grateful for alternative forms of support so they can redirect their limited funds toward housing.
