This request is part of the Bundles of Hope Initiative. Citrus Family Care Network is working closely with this young adult who aged out of foster care and is part of the Independent Living Program. The young adult is doing her best to provide a safe nurturing environment for their little ones. The young adult is caring for 2 twins under the age of 2 and the children need size 3 diapers and wipes. Would you consider stepping in to meet this need? A simple gift of diapers and wipes can ease a real burden and remind this young adult that are seen and supported. Your response sends a powerful message: You are not alone and your community cares.

A kinship foster home is in need of a car seat for the seven-month-old in their care. They have been caring for this child since she was born and have provided a safe and loving home for her. They are in the process of adopting her brother, and the cost of lawyers and legal fees has put them in a more financially challenging time. The baby is outgrowing her infant car seat, and the family is in need of a new one that she can fit into. She is currently 27" and needs a car seat that she will fit into once she passes 30". They are grateful for any support they can receive.

An older woman has recently taken in a small baby, and is in need of assistance with feeding and caring for the child. Due to a lack of established custody, it is difficult for the caretaker to obtain benefits for the child. By assisting now, it allows time to strengthen this placement, without the child having to enter foster care.

All 4 youth in this home have struggled with being in foster care and ways to cope. Recently during a worker child, while trying to find ways to cope and feel better it was an idea to get the weighted blanket which would also help them sleep at night. The youngest two children often want to be cuddled at night when scared- our hope is that this will make it feel like they are not so alone. The older two feel as if it would help them sleep and feel better when trying to de-escalate. Older three children are in care for the second time, youngest's first. These child have been abused physically, mentally, verbally and emotionally. One of the children was burned which led to the first go around of foster care. These children struggle with the loss of not having their parents but want to only go home to one parent and not the other. One youth recently was in an acute stay due to the anxiety of court and having to face parents after telling the truth of things that have happened and worried how parents would react to it. A mother has recently been reunified with her three children. She has been working hard to provide for their needs. She does not have a dining table and chairs. As a single mother she is unable to afford the dining table and chairs at this time. The mother is requesting assistance in obtaining a dining table and six chairs for the family. Fulfilling this request will strengthen this family and give them a place to eat meals together as a family.

A mother is no longer able to take her medication since she cannot afford and no longer able to pay her bills and work. She is taking the steps to get her medication started back up for physical and mental state. Since she is not able to work due to having her disability she is not able to afford her rent. She has an eviction notice and needing to get her rent paid in the next 3 days. She currently has 3 children living in the house, an eight year old, 13 year old, and a 17 year old. She is a single mother and is never late with paying her rent. She could use all the help that she could get in order to prevent homelessness for her family.

A family with a child with special needs (seizure disorder and autism) is seeking assistance for a small portable air conditioner. Initially mom thought that the landlord got this fixed but as the days get hotter the a/c cannot keep up. The child’s seizures worsen with heat and the mom is about to undergo a surgery. Does anyone have a used portable a/c that can be donated? Or can you find it in your heart to donate to this cause?

Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.
