Client is due in June with baby girl and is in need of a dresser and/or changing table. Ideally the client prefers a 2 in one dresser/changing table if possible. She is happy to received either new or gently used.

The mother is in the middle of divorcing the father of her children due to him being emotionally manipulative towards the mother and children. They currently share split custody, but the mother is in the process of filing for full custody due to her concerns of the father being emotionally abusive to the children. There are currently 4 children, a 10-year-old female, and a 7-, 5-, & 2-year-old boy. The mother is needing assistance with getting a twin mattress and twin bed frame for her daughter and a pack and play.

The mother is in stages of transitioning to reunification and has requested assisstance with obtaining a bunk bed to better accomodate her children in her home

The CPS Unit received a report of a child having climbed out of his crib in the middle of the night which was positioned near a window. The child proceeded to push through the screen and fell out of the first story window. The child had to be brought to the local hospital and luckily did not sustain any permanent injuries. Mom is a single mother raising two children ages 12 and 2 years old. Mom relies on her single income to provide for the family and is unable to afford window bars. The child is being discharged from the hospital today so the Agency is looking to support mom in this request ASAP. Attached below is an example of what the family is looking for. The family home has windows that sit lower to the ground which is easily accessible to the child. The family has four windows that the child could gain access to. The mother is very appreciative of any help to avoid this event from occurring again.

A mom of three (5 year old girl, 9 year old boy, and 11 year old boy) is struggling financially. Without a working phone, she can't apply for jobs, respond to requests for interviews, schedule family time with her children, or make progress on her case. An organization that we partner with shared a need with us for a family they are working with. Mother recently loss her mom and has a lot of Mental health issues. She recently got custody of her children back and is trying to really hard to be a good mother, there are other two children in the house. They are in need of a Twin bed, a Queen bed and a vacuum cleaner. Please let me know if you have any of these items to help this family or if you are able to purchase them!

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

Family is in need of two twin sized mattresses, the bed frames and bedding have been secured.

One of our members has a washer and dryer to donate. A newly arrived refugee family with a disabled child is in great need of these donated units. We are looking for help from our church to pick up and deliver the washer and dryer. A pick up truck is needed, also volunteers to load, unload and install.

I met a young single mom, yesterday who is facing homelessness. She and her 12 year old daughter currently live in an apartment with her mother and are being evicted on Sunday evening. The grandmother has a place to go but this mom and her 12 year old do not. She is on a list to move in to housing in 4-7 days. She hopes to get a job in the Ruckersville area within walking distance of Food Lion.
GRACE can likely help her with first months rent when she gets in, but cannot help her with both first months rent and a hotel stay until the apartment becomes available. We are seeking nights at a hotel or an available room where she and her daughter can stay until getting the apartment. Please reach out if you can help with this. If different churches pay each church needs to make a different reservation which would be difficult. Current rate is around $140 a night. Let me know how many nights you could cover for her and I will start a reservation with that many nights and ask that you either send funds through GRACE or stop in the hotel and pay cash towards the reservation.
