One of our kindergarten students and his mother was kicked out of their house by the father on April 11th. She has been staying with family, however the father came to our school yesterday, assaulted the mother in front of our school and stole her phone from her. The father has threatened her and her family multiple times with a weapon. We are working with mom to file a police report, an order of protection and other paperwork, however she does not have a phone or the money to purchase a phone, as she had to quit her job when they were kicked out of the house. Filing police reports and orders of protection has been a challenge since she does not have a phone and does not have a way for the police to get ahold of her. Not having a phone is also a huge safety risk when she is with her son and driving him back and forth to school. A new cell phone with at least a month (or more) prepaid is very important for her and her son's safety.

A couch is one of those items that help a house really feel like a home. It is a place where everyone can come together and watch a movie, read a book, or talk about their day. When a family doesn't have anywhere to relax together, everyone ends up going to their own beds to sit down and that can make it harder to connect as a family. This single mom living with her adult daughter and her elementary daughter would love a place to sit down as a family. Mom works hard to make sure that everyone's basic needs are met, but that doesn't leave anything extra for a large expense like a couch. Please consider donating your gently used couch to a family in need. Thank you!

This request is for a refugee family struggling with fertility for the last year and a half. Mother is taking fertility medication and has been advised by physicians to use ovulation kits to increase the chances of successful pregnancy timing, but the family is unable to afford kits. If possible, having enough kits for multiple cycles would be beneficial.

I am working with a single mother who is facing the threat of eviction for her and her 1 year old baby. She works full-time in addition to caring for her baby. She attempted to reach out to St. Vincent de Paul, but they have not been able to help her with rental assistance. This mother is also actively participating in our parent cafes to expand her knowledge and skills as a mother. From the start of working with this mother, she has been nothing but positive and determined to try any and all resources that could help (all the while working a full-time job and caring for her little one).

This request pertains to a 6-year-old girl and her current placement with her Grandmother. The child is in need of her own bed. For the first few weeks of her being placed with her Grandmother, she was co-sleeping with her in her bed. Not only was this a necessity at the time, but it was also the child's preference. Sleeping with her Grandmother made her feel more comfortable and safe. Now that she is settling in with Grandma, the family is requesting support for acquiring a bed for the child. We are looking to get a twin bed set for her. She needs a frame, mattress, bedding, and a pillow. Having her own bed will help foster her independence and improve her relationship with her Grandmother. Any assistance for this matter would be SO greatly appreciated and it would go a long way for this child and her family.

Please help us to meet the need for a powered mower. We have an adult son thriving in our recovery community who provides care for his aging mother. He is reestablishing a life in sobriety and she is on a fixed income, so their resources are limited. They're currently unable to mow her lawn. Thank you blessing this family!

2 senior individuals with disabilities were placed in protective custody due to living conditions exploitation sexual and physical abuse. We are asking for help with community resources that may be able to assist these 2 elderly disabled individuals with mentorship, gift cards for local fastfood due to where they were placed they only have access to a microwave. Any financial assistance would greatly be appreciated to ensure securement of their room at motel until further placement arrangements can be made. What we are needing is..

1. Financial assistance for motel for approx. 1 month and transportation
2. Resources for food,clothing,mentorship transportation,housing
3. fast food gift cards so these 2 individuals can have at least 1 hot meal.

A member of Doxa shared a request where they would benefit in having another bed since they assist their neighbor kids while their mom works doubles to make ends meet. Having a bed will allow her to serve the kids in having their own space when they spend the evenings over.

We are in urgent need of funding to purchase two mattresses (we highly recommend with waterproof covers) for a foster family who is working to get siblings placed in their home. As part of the placement transition, they will be hosting the children for some overnight visits soon and they have worked to purchase beds for their home. As a result, they are asking for help in purchasing the mattresses to put on the beds due to the sudden financial strain. These kids will be looking to make this home a permanent placement, so these items would be for use long into the future. Mom is in need of two window air conditioner units for her apartment. Currently, the children are not able to sleep in their rooms because of the temperature (either too hot in the summer or no heat in the winter). Mom also needs a twin size mattress for a bedframe that she has for her daughter.
