Requesting assistance with providing bedding for two female children (3 year old and 10 year old) recently placed with their aunt and uncle. The girls share a bedroom, thus two twin beds (along with box spring, frame, mattress, bedding) or a bunk bed (along with mattresses and bedding) would be perfect. The girls are currently sharing an air mattress. Due to this being a new case, there is a high probability the children will be in relative care for several months or longer. A more permanent bedding arrangement would make the girls happy and provide a safe space. Due to the sudden placement, the relatives were not prepared/able to spend funds already allocated to other expenses. Any assistance with this request would help preserve a kinship placement.

A single mother of four is currently facing a difficult financial situation and has been unable to pay her rent for the month of May. The mother had severe car troubles and paid to have her car fixed. Having transportation is critical as she is a single mother with little support. While she did get her car fixed, it took most of her monthly income and is short rent. She is extremely worried about the possibility of eviction and is reaching out in hopes of receiving some assistance. She is behind $1,000 of her rent to keep a roof over her children's heads during this challenging time. Her children, ages 3, 4, 6, and 11, are the sweetest bunch you could ever meet. They deserve stability and security to continue thriving. This mother is doing her best to provide for them despite the hardships she’s facing, and any support or guidance you could offer during this difficult period would mean the world to her and her children. If she is unable to pay rent and face eviction, the kids will enter foster care. There is no family or friend support to keep the kids.

In the month of June, the aftercare case team will be celebrating all of the families whose children were reunified with their parents/guardians during the past year (June 2024 - end of May 2025). The case team is planning to make gift baskets for each family. One of the main items needed is baskets or something similar to hold items based on a determined theme per family. The case team thought donated baskets or gift cards to purchase them would allow them to use their full budget on the themed items for each family's basket. I have attached pictures of possible baskets/tubs as guidance. They do not have to be the exact ones. The case team will be putting baskets together at the beginning of June and delivering these gift baskets in the month of June. Father was recently released from prison and is working to get on his feet. One of his barriers since returning home is transportation and he is struggling to get to and from his appointments. MCCS is requesting assistance with a one month bus pass to help him commute to and from his appointments until he starts his job later in the month. Note: This is a one time request!

The children are under care of grandma at this time and she is limited in resources and needs assistance with purchasing two car seats for the toddlers as she was already struggling financially and now is providing care for the children. Please consider helping a single mom and her 2 year old daughter here in our Scottsville community. They are in need of a refrigerator as theirs went out and now they do not have one. This would help them keep cold food instead of just shelf food for meals. This single mom works multiple jobs including an in-home bakery. Appliances are very expensive and finances are tight for her. Not only would this help with their food but it would also help her continue her business and the flow of income.

We have contacted Doug's Maytag in Scottsville and they have a new Amana for $667 or a new Whirlpool for $754. There is a $79 delivery fee and they will remove and dispose of the old one for her.

Please help us to meet the need for a powered mower. We have an adult son thriving in our recovery community who provides care for his aging mother. 2 senior individuals with disabilities were placed in protective custody due to living conditions exploitation sexual and physical abuse. We are asking for help with community resources that may be able to assist these 2 elderly disabled individuals with mentorship, gift cards for local fastfood due to where they were placed they only have access to a microwave. Any financial assistance would greatly be appreciated to ensure securement of their room at motel until further placement arrangements can be made. What we are needing is..

1. Financial assistance for motel for approx. 1 month and transportation
2. Resources for food,clothing,mentorship transportation,housing
3. fast food gift cards so these 2 individuals can have at least 1 hot meal.

We are in urgent need of funding to purchase two mattresses (we highly recommend with waterproof covers) for a foster family who is working to get siblings placed in their home. As part of the placement transition, they will be hosting the children for some overnight visits soon and they have worked to purchase beds for their home. As a result, they are asking for help in purchasing the mattresses to put on the beds due to the sudden financial strain. These kids will be looking to make this home a permanent placement, so these items would be for use long into the future. Mom is in need of two window air conditioner units for her apartment. Currently, the children are not able to sleep in their rooms because of the temperature (either too hot in the summer or no heat in the winter). Mom also needs a twin size mattress for a bedframe that she has for her daughter.
