Family is struggling through several issues. Department believes if home could get a one-time help with a good cleaning of their residence, it would help the family to move towards maintaining a clean/environmentally healthy home.

A team of 3-4 people to go into the families' home would be helpful.

Single mother of four kids is seeking help with moving belongings from a storage unit right outside of Buena Vista and to income based apartment in Lexington. This family had to be out of their home on May 31, 2025 and are currently living in a shelter until they could move into the income-based apartment. The apartment is now ready for them to move into but need help with heavy lifting and moving items from a storage unit to their apartment. Receiving this help would help a single mom and her children find peace as they are getting away from a situation and able to get out of the shelter and settled into their new home. This family needs help from people with trucks, trailers and able to do heavy lifting and possibly even putting bed frames back together. This family is looking for help ASAP and a Saturday is possible. The family is hopeful this could happen this Saturday, June 7th, but is open to other dates. I put this under a cleaning service as there was no other available option to fit this need, but this would not entail cleaning or putting away their belongings, only hauling/lifting heavy items to their apartment from the storage unit. The family is hoping for volunteers from local groups/churches to fill this need.

This request is on behalf of a Hope Florida participant and her daughter. She is a single mom and doing everything she can to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship. She has full care of her 11-year-old daughter, and despite a court-issued restraining order, her father provides no financial support. Since losing her job in November, she has struggled to pay rent, put food on the table, and meet my child’s basic needs. Recently, she was offered a job as a Restaurant Manager at the Kippton Hotel—a vital opportunity to regain stability—but it is 4.5 miles from their home, and she has no way of transportation. She is humbly asking for help to obtain a bicycle, which would make it possible for her to get to work and provide for her daughter. This small act of support would mean the world to them and could mark the beginning of a new, hopeful chapter in their lives. One of our partners has a mom who is expecting a baby on 7/9/25 who is in need of the following items. Mom is currently struggling financially and lacks family and friends’ support. The family lives in a two -story house and have been having trouble ensuring that the children leave their windows closed on the second floor. This family has one adult income due to medical reasons that have prevented them from working at this time. There are 5 children in the home. The family is in need of 2 window alarms and one twin sized mattress with neutral bedding for either boy or girl. Some of the children have medical diagnoses that window alarms could help prevent the children leaving the home or hurting themselves. The window alarms will alert the mom in the event a child tries to open a window. This would help provide safety and necessary sleeping arrangements for the children. When this need is met, the children will recognize that opening windows on second story of the home is unsafe.

This case involves a family consisting of the parents and their 5 children. The mother and father have worked very hard to provide for their family and take care of their family. The mother is a young mum with a lot of young children. She has a son who is six years old who is being tested for Autism, two daughters, 8yo and 4yo. She also has a pair of twins who are a year old, one boy and one girl. The parents have recently moved into another home to accommodate their family size and have had to take care of deposits and moving expenses. They have been able to take care of this, however, expenses have left them with little left over for the month. They acquired a few YMCA passes for the summer for a few family members and hope to be able to obtain passes for the remaining family members to enjoy summer activity together. The cost of passes for the remaining children is $117 total. Meeting this need will provide opportunity for all of the children to enjoy swimming and play at their local YMCA and keep them busy this summer.

Mom was recently homeless - she's transitioning to new and more affordable apartment of her own. She needs appliances, as new apartment does not provide items listed. She is actively seeking employment, currently has no available finances to put towards these items. Mother with limited support and unable to seek assistance through family or friends. A single mother had to leave her job due to that organization losing funding and her hours being cut down. The single mother is now working a cleaning business and is a full time student as well to further her education. She hurt her back a couple months ago so she is struggling to work her hours. She currently has 3 of her daughters who are in high school and 3 toddlers/newborns in her house including herself. She is selling some lotion on the side to try to make ends meet. Anything can help.

An elderly woman with serious health conditions in our community is in need of a working electric stove/oven for her home. This can be an older or used appliance as long as it is in good condition and that it works.

A single mother is facing financial hardship and has fallen behind on her rent. She has an 11-year-old son and is striving to get back on track. Her monthly rent is $1,570.00, and she was able to pay $500.00 for May; however, she has incurred late fees totaling $230.00 and is struggling to cover the remaining $1,300.00 that was due for May. As June is now here, she has fallen short again and is seeking assistance to stabilize her housing situation. Any support that can help her bridge this gap and regain stability would be deeply appreciated.
