We have a single mom who may lose her job due to electrical issue with her car. She received several estimates to get it fixed but is unable to come up with the payment. She needs her car desperately for work and taking/picking up the kids after work. If we can help this mom get her car fixed then she will be able to keep her job. I am currently working with a family in need. The household includes a mother and her three children—two boys, ages 11 and 6, and a 5-month-old daughter. The mother is incredibly resilient and has navigated many challenges throughout her journey in motherhood. At present, she is unemployed and under significant stress due to the father's absence from the home and his lack of support, particularly in caring for their 6-year-old son, who has been diagnosed with autism and requires high levels of care. The family lives in a single-family home with very worn out and damaged furniture and limited clothing. Currently, the mother shares a mattress with both of her sons and her infant daughter. To help improve their living conditions and promote the children’s safety and comfort, the Department would like to assist the family in obtaining the following items: bedding, and a double seat stroller. By providing these basic necessities would not only ease the mother’s emotional and financial burdens but also allow the children to have their own beds, helping them get proper rest to start their days well. TWO REQUESTS ARE BEING SUBMITTED FOR THIS FAMILY (one for the bedding and a second for the double stroller).

Hello, please help a mother with a housing application fee and care supplies while inpatient. This mother is working towards getting her children back home but is having trouble gathering the funds for a housing application and care supplies. She is not currently employed and could use some support right now. We are asking you to please help by providing her with what she needs. She wants to make sure she has safe and stable housing for her children and supplies while she recovers. Thank you so much for your generosity and help in bringing this family closer to reunification.

This is a need for help with rent. The family has part of the rent but due to medical bills, cannot pay the amount. The adoptive Mom had experienced medical bills and prescription bills this month that caused her to use her rent money to meet those needs. She has a portion of her rent but is requesting assistance with the remaining amount. She will submit a letter from her landlord/apartment management that states the amount due that is remaining. She will be notified that this is a one time help and cannot be requested again at a later date. Update as of 5/19: Adoptive Mom experienced a Medical Emergency over the weekend and is in the hospital.

Foster mom has 4 children in her home and needs assistance with her utility bill. In May, everyone in the home was sick and she had to miss 2 weeks of work. Foster mom is the only adult in the home and there is no other income coming into the home. Finances are already tight, so this has caused stress on the family. If she is able to receive assistance for her utility bill, it would reduce her stress level and ensure the family's ability to afford to pay for other bills, food, etc.

Grace Chruch Family, a need in the community has come to our attention that we would like to help with. A mom needs help with an electric bill. She has 3 children ages 6, 2, and 5 months. The baby was born early and this has caused her to get behind on several bills. Thank you for any amount you feel led to fund.

A family with a child with special needs (seizure disorder and autism) is seeking assistance for a small portable air conditioner. Initially mom thought that the landlord got this fixed but as the days get hotter the a/c cannot keep up. The child’s seizures worsen with heat and the mom is about to undergo a surgery. Does anyone have a used portable a/c that can be donated? Or can you find it in your heart to donate to this cause?

Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.
