A family of 5 is struggling due to familiar loss and mental health issues. With a one parent income, the family is struggling to manage a clean a safe environment for their children along with their 4 dogs, 9 cats, and several rabbits in side the home. Due to concerns of too many animals causing unsanitary living conditions/issues with children's clothes smelling of animal urine, the family is seeking to move the animals outside the residence as the children's clothes have been soiled with animal urine and impacts the children's daily interactions with peers. DCF is looking for 2 large dog houses, and some cheap dog food for large breed dogs to assist this family in making space inside the home and to address and improve the living conditions of the home. Helping this family find a way to safely move some of their animals outside would increase the children's safety by lowering the amount of feces in the home and possibility for their clothes to be soiled by said animals.

We have a family of 7 that recently moved to the area and needs help. The family does not speak English and needs a translator. The family is facing a huge cultural shock. As this family attempts to adjust, they are in need of rugs which is a huge part of their culture. They are also in need of some sleeping arrangements. For this large family, funds are stretched thin. This family would benefit from these items as it would help personalize their home to fit their lifestyle and culture. Items: rug, 2 queen size beds, 2 twin over twin bunk beds.

We have a family that we are working with to satisfy DCF requirements for proper sleeping arrangements that has one more need to be in compliance. Right now, they’re working hard to satisfy guidelines for safe and appropriate sleeping arrangements. With just one more twin bed needed, this is a chance for the community to step in and make a real difference. They have an inspection coming up on Monday.

This request is from a dad of a client that both are undecided about this current pregnancy. They have a 10 month old and need a high chair for that child. Neither of them are currently working. Please pray with us that they choose to continue with this pregnancy.

A brave 22-year-old caregiver has stepped up to care for her 17-year-old sister through a kinship placement. Despite her young age, she has taken on this responsibility with love and determination. Recently, she suffered a broken wrist, making it impossible for her to work. She and her sister are currently staying with another sister and her sister’s fiancé while she searches for a stable place to call home. She is doing everything she can to support her little sister, including applying for SNAP benefits and Medicaid, and is now waiting to hear back on the status of those applications. In the meantime, she has been relying on food pantries, but those resources are limited and don’t always meet their needs. She is seeking help with groceries so she can provide healthy, nourishing meals for her sister and herself. She is also in the process of applying for unemployment and actively searching for housing to give her sister a sense of stability and home. This young woman and her sister have already faced so much at such young ages, yet they continue to move forward with strength and hope. Any support with groceries or gift cards would mean the world to them. The family is incredibly grateful for any kindness shown during this difficult time.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
