Mother does not have access to a phone of her own that can make calls. She is needing a boost mobile minute card/gift card to get service onto the phone. The card would need to give her access to phone calling for the duration of a month so she can have access to a phone to make calls.

This request is being made for a family that has been faced with financial hardship and needs assistance with paying their utility bill. The total bill is $557.94 and a past due amount of $295.94 is needed by 5/16 in order to prevent being cut off. They have gone from a two family income to one. The Mother has been diagnosed with cervical cancer and will be having surgery next week. The oldest child has special needs and is a student at UC Middle School, their daughter is in Kindergarten, and they have a 3 year old son. The Dad is working full time and trying to strengthen the family’s finances, but having difficulty getting caught up. There was a mishap on their part with getting information to the Department of Human Services and they lost assistance. They had to use money designated for paying the utility bill to purchase food. Referrals have been made to programs that can be of assistance, but they are on a waiting list and there is an immediate need for keeping their utilities on. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to prevent the family from going through this hardship along with the stress of an upcoming surgery and unsure recovery.

A foster family needs assistance for a baby monitor to help assess the infant at night and during naps due to disruptive sleep.

We are supporting a single mother who is both adoptive and foster, as she relocates back to Santa Clara County with three adopted children. On Friday, May 9th, she was informed by a Santa Clara County placement social worker that my adopted daughter's birth mother was killed in a car accident. She is now in urgent need of an affordable 3-4 bedroom rental home to accommodate her two little sisters, who have also been displaced.

She has been a significant presence in these girls' lives since their birth and is one of the only constants they have known. Despite having excellent credit and a stable income, she is struggling to find an affordable place to live. Securing affordable housing is crucial for her to quickly take placement of the siblings, who are coping with the loss of their mother. It is essential to adhere to all foster care licensing regulations. Here are some items she would need for their new home: Bedroom:

A single mother from Pickerington reached out for help with her South Central Power bill in the amount of $409.50. Her electricity was originally scheduled for disconnection on May 5, but she was able to negotiate an extension until the end of business today. This mother is raising her 13-year-old daughter on her own and lives paycheck to paycheck. She shared that she has been dealing with intermittent illness but is scheduled to return to work next week. Despite working full-time, her monthly income is not enough to cover her rent. She has an appointment with the Pickerington Food Pantry for additional support and mentioned that she called 2-1-1 and was advised to reach out to local churches. (Wes, I’m not sure if that information is accurate.) At our suggestion, she contacted South Central to find out the minimum payment required to prevent disconnection, which turned out to be $215.25. Grace Fellowship has already covered that amount today. However, there is still a remaining balance of $194.25 She also mentioned that she’s actively looking for a part-time job to supplement her full-time income and is seeking shift work. Given the situation, I will be submitting a request through the IFP portal. Since Grace Fellowship has already contributed $215.25, I am reaching out to see if any of the other churches in our network would be willing to assist with the remaining balance of $194.25.

A community serving agency is in need of support for assisting in keeping families safe, when home is no longer safe, typically due to domestic violence situations. Often it is a quick decision that has to be made immediately, often late at night and when most shelters are full. I would love to prepare them for when things do happen, they are ready and have some support. Thanks in advance for helping!!

Mother expecting 2nd child on 5/23. This child’s father is not involved, although has support from 1st child FOB. Both unemployed and without finances to put towards listed items. This mother was recently enrolled in our program for her 2nd child, although we did have her 5 years ago when her 1st child was born. Since our initial enrollment, this mother has shown much growth in her recovery and mental health. We have provided other resources in the community, although family has not been successful in obtaining these items. Any assistance available would be beneficial to this family- thank you!
