I’m reaching out on behalf of a young woman, approximately 18 years old, who is in urgent need of immediate housing support. She has a 3-year-old daughter and is currently living in her car. The location where she has been parking is no longer safe, and she is extremely scared and overwhelmed.

She has been actively working toward stability—engaging with resources and following all recommended steps—but is currently in a waiting period for more permanent support. Unfortunately, she has no safe place to go right now, and we are very concerned for her and her child’s safety and well-being.

We are hoping to secure emergency funding for a hotel stay while she awaits placement in a shelter or transitional housing program. Even a few nights of safe, stable shelter would make a critical difference during this time.

This family was recently separated by DCS, and this mother has been working hard in order to reunite with her children. She has been able to secure an apartment but is struggling financially and needs help furnishing it. She needs help providing a safe and comfortable home for her children to return to.

This request is being submitted on behalf of a Hope Florida participant that is a single mom and her young son. This family is going through a hard and difficult time. The participant was working as a housekeeper but went on sick leave due to an injury. Client’s injury resulted in surgery. Due to doctors’ orders, client was not able to return to work as a housekeeper. The hotel where she worked for did not have any other openings which resulted in client being terminated. Client is currently recovering from surgery but is still seeking employment in another fields due to doctor’s order. This hard-working mom is used to working and providing for her son, but due to the circumstance, she is not able to provide her son with everything he needs. This mother is kindly asking for help with purchasing new shoes for her son as well as hygiene items. This will help the boy have appropriate shoes to be able to function safely throughout the day. The hygiene items will help this family remain clean and healthy and will help them feel secure in their appearance. We thank you for your support and kindness in helping this family. The father is a single father, but has limited financial resources and wants to make the home more family oriented for them both. He would like a couch and bed since the father gave the child his bed.

Two young girls recently became legally free and were placed with a maternal relative who will be starting the adoption process of the girls soon. The family is still in the process of completing foster care training and has not received an initial stipend. The family has paid $500 out of pocket in child care costs in the past month and is requesting assistance with utilities to offset the cost of the child care costs. The girls are on a waiting list for DHS approved daycare sites, but until they are admitted, the family is paying cash for babysitters who come to the home while foster mom and dad work. The first bill is for electric in the amount of $380 due 5/15 and the second is a water bill in the amount of $98 due 5/5. There are 5 children and 2 adults in the home. I have copies of the utility bills.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent. They are in need of $600.00 to keep being evicted. Single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition.

Mother expecting 2nd child on 5/23. This child’s father is not involved, although has support from 1st child FOB. Both unemployed and without finances to put towards listed items. This mother was recently enrolled in our program for her 2nd child, although we did have her 5 years ago when her 1st child was born. Since our initial enrollment, this mother has shown much growth in her recovery and mental health. We have provided other resources in the community, although family has not been successful in obtaining these items. Any assistance available would be beneficial to this family- thank you!
