A brave 22-year-old caregiver has stepped up to care for her 17-year-old sister through a kinship placement. Despite her young age, she has taken on this responsibility with love and determination. Recently, she suffered a broken wrist, making it impossible for her to work. She and her sister are currently staying with another sister and her sister’s fiancé while she searches for a stable place to call home. She is doing everything she can to support her little sister, including applying for SNAP benefits and Medicaid, and is now waiting to hear back on the status of those applications. In the meantime, she has been relying on food pantries, but those resources are limited and don’t always meet their needs. She is seeking help with groceries so she can provide healthy, nourishing meals for her sister and herself. She is also in the process of applying for unemployment and actively searching for housing to give her sister a sense of stability and home. This young woman and her sister have already faced so much at such young ages, yet they continue to move forward with strength and hope. Any support with groceries or gift cards would mean the world to them. The family is incredibly grateful for any kindness shown during this difficult time.

We have a family in need of help. This mother has the decision to protect herself along with her child by moving out on their own to escape a domestic violence situation. Any and everything will help as this mother navigates thins new lifestyle. This has been a very scary and new experience. This mother just needs the tools to create routines and a new lifestyle as their life has been flipped upside down. The family requests dishes, pots and pans, silverware, queen size bed sheets and pillows, couch, cleaning supplies, blankets, dish soap, sponges, broom, mop.

Within this family in need there are three children (13 y/o girl, 11 y/o. girl, and 6 y/o boy) who have been placed in relative foster care with their 21 y/o sister. The sister is working hard to meet the needs of her siblings on such short notice. The family is in need of two twin sized mattresses and a bunk bed for the children to sleep on. They also need bedding for the beds.

The family consist of single mother and three children. Mother is unemployed and does not drive. The two youngest children ages 8 and 9 are severely disabled and wear diapers. Both children wear diapers due to their disability. Their current diapers are too small and that the diapers are causing marks in the children. The CSW also observed that the children’s clothing and shoes are too small. It was noted that one of the children had blisters due to his shoes being too small. Mother informed CSW that she cannot financially afford to purchase the diapers, clothing, and shoes for her children as she is currently unemployed and is trying to make ends meet. Mother is asking if someone can assist in getting diapers, clothing and shoes for her 3 children. Thank you.

Hello, I have a family I am working with that have a couple of small children that like to sneak out and escape from the home. The mother is often by herself and is in need of alarms and safety handles to avoid two of the children from leaving the home while she is cooking, taking care of the baby, etc. The family is in need of the sound alarms that stick to the door/windows. They will need a minimum of 2/pack. Also, the round knob door safety covers for 2 doors in their home. Thank you for your consideration.

Again, we are out of beds with the other recent arrivals and the funds that were normally given to the refugee resettlement agencies being stopped. For these two families again, we need beds (always) and another coffee table.

Glocal has already provided through community donations other furniture that they needed along with household goods. always feel free to inquire more about our programs .

Although it may seem unlikely, we are still seeing families arrive through the refugee process. They come with basically nothing and through Glocal, we provide them new and gently used items donated through the community to help them get started in their first home in the Treasure Valley. We have one large Afghan family of 9 that we have in temporary housing and will move into two apartments in the near future. We are short beds and tables for several families. this request is for the larger family that arrived a few weeks ago. To keep things less costly, they will need to put several children in one room and bunk beds will help. they also could use some coffee tables and end tables. Glocal has been able to provide them with their other needs through earlier donations.

A family has contacted our church in need of help to pay their rent for $1,100. We were able to provide $500 from our church. They are still in need of $600.00 to keep from being evicted. This is a single mother with a teen son and younger daughter. the mother has been sick for a few weeks and was short on her rent. She has also been helping her sister with a serious medical condition. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide this family.
