Single mother (who Emmaus members have been walking alongside) escaping domestic violence from husband along with two kids under the age of 7 years. She is starting over from scratch as they left the house with nothing and has no extended family support. She would like to have a car which would provide transportation so she can get a job so that she can get into housing. We are hoping to provide $3,000 towards a vehicle.

This caregiver has had a rough few years she has been battling breast cancer and other health issues,She and her husband are retired and on a tight budget,she adopted a granddaughter out of foster care around 8 yrs, she is now 23, is in college and works part time A few weeks ago they took in another grandchild age 16, he has an open case with DCFS he was removed for severe neglect and abuse,there are other siblings who are placed in other foster home for the kids. She needs to have 3 Dressers of 5 selfs to have adequate storage and needs to also replace sofas to pass inspection.

We have helped with other needs but these 4 items are still pending and they don’t have the funds.

A young couple is seeking important baby items as they prepare for the birth of their second child this summer. They are newly settled in the state, and most of their family and support live outside of the country. Though they are excited for this next season with their growing family, they are struggling to collect larger baby items. This mom is not working currently as she stays home with their two-year-old son, and her husband is their primary source of income. She has been very intentional in establishing her regular doctor’s care through this pregnancy and is also actively exploring what supports are available for their growing family. We would love to help to set them up before the birth of their child, so that they can confidently focus on the immediate needs of their two young children. They specifically need a car seat and stroller combination as well as a bassinet. These items would afford them the peace of mind of knowing they can leave the hospital after birth and set their little one up with a comfortable space at home. She is the sole provider since the father is very sick and not doing well. This family is very concerned about becoming homeless, they are working on getting assistance but at this time they are on a very long waiting list for services. Hello, I am working with one of our school families with and elementary student and a middle school student. I was informed that due to the struggle of finding steady employment after the Wild Fires, they are struggling with rent funds to avoid getting evited. They do not have food or gas money to take children to school. The single parent is searching for work to get back on track. Friends have been donating food for this family but their fridge has stopped working and they don't have any where to keep milk and other items that need to be kept in the fridge. Mother and dad of newborn have been living in their car for 14 months. Baby is now 2 months old. They both work and pay car payments but cannot afford to get established in an apartment or home. Baby is growing and they are in desperate need to have a different living situation for their family. They have been sleeping in a classroom on the floor of our church 3 nights a week, for this past month and the church cannot sustain this arrangement indefinitely. They are very polite, hardworking, clean and cooperative. We have prayed about this and believe a camper would be the best goal for them at this time. They can afford an RV park with utilities and start to get a lead on a permanent residence.

We are seeking urgent support for a family with two children at risk of losing stable housing. The family is currently facing eviction, with a balance of $3,587 due. If the balance is paid before the court date, they will be allowed to remain in their home. The mother is actively working side jobs and may be able to contribute a portion of the amount.

This support request is focused on preserving housing stability for the children, ensuring they are not displaced and can remain in a safe, familiar environment. Assistance toward this housing need would directly prevent trauma and disruption in their lives.
