I am requesting funding to help a 14 year old girl attend summer camp. She currently lives with her mother and older brother who is experiencing job and housing insecurity. The older brother is in and out of the home as he deals with staying out of the gang life. Despite all that she is dealing with this young lady continues to maintain her grades in school and a positive outlook on her situation. Attending camp will give this young lady a much needed reprieve from the current home situation and give her the encouragement that she needs to continue building on personal resilience and independence. Restore has been working with a family of two adults and 3 young children to assist them in getting settled in their new apartment. They lost their housing assistance in KS due to making too much income. They ended up having to move from KS to a cheaper apartment in MO. Both parents work - but with the expense of deposits, the move and cost increase of rent almost doubling, they are struggling to get on their feet. They found a way to make the deposits and initial rent but that really depleted them. This month they have been able to come up with all but $500 to cover the rent and utilities. We would like to help them with the remainder so they do not get behind and incur late fees. Once they get over the hump, they should be able to handle the expenses moving forward. If you would like to assist with any amount, it would be appreciated. This is a family we are walking beside and connecting with frequently hoping to show them support and the love of Christ. Please pray for them as they transition through many changes.

Kinship provider is caring for a family members baby. This child was born premature with serious heart defects. The baby is very sick and requires ongoing hospital care as well as extensive round the clock medical care, for the short periods that she is discharged to the home. The kin provider is heart broken and a bit traumatized by how sick the baby is. Kin provider has identified that gas vouchers would be helpful and supportive to her at this time as she visits the baby in the hospital daily to receive care instructions, updates and because she loves her. Kin provider plans to get involved in counseling as an added layer of support. The ongoing side of the case is no longer providing gas vouchers due to budget cuts. Therefore, this cert worker is asking for gas gift cards for the family and is advocating for $200 but any amount is greatly appreciated!

Hello! We are holding our annual Kinship/Foster Parent Appreciation Celebration in June 2025! Kinship families take placement of children on an emergency basis who they have a prior relationship with in order to prevent children from being placed in the foster-care system. Placing children with family or friends often reduces the trauma children go through when separated from parents & strengthens the natural familial and community supports. Families make it work everyday for these precious children. Foster families open their homes to children with no where else to go. These families selflessly get licensed knowing the need in our community. They complete a rigorous process to open their home and cooperate with several agencies and the court system as well as be an advocate for the foster child in their home. If the community didn't have foster parents, more children would be in DHS offices without placement. Showing our appreciation will ensure we can maintain these vital resources in child welfare and hopefully encourage others to help and advocate for children with DHS involvement. The Kinship/Foster Care Unit is hoping to provide gift cards through a raffle to each family at the event in the amount of $50 for grocery stores, Walmart or Target, or other locations in town where items for the family can be purchased. Another option is to provide specific items to raffle off to the families such as fun activities for the children or gift baskets, be creative!

Maternal aunt and uncle recently took in their 6 year old niece. She came from a home infested with bed bugs and could not bring any clothes or personal items. Family has purchased as many things as they are able with no financial assistance yet. They could use clothes for the child (sizes below) as well as gift card for food and clothes. Shirts 10/12 or 14, size 7/10 dress Walmart gift card for clothes King Soopers or Safeway gift card for food

A dedicated caregiver currently caring for three young children through a DCF placement is in need of support. Due to the unique nature of this placement, she is not receiving supplemental financial assistance and is doing her best to meet the children’s needs on her own.

This request is for summer clothing and diapers to help ease the burden. The children include a 7-month-old boy (wearing 12-month size), a 4-year-old boy (sizes 5–6), and a 2-year-old girl (sizes 2T–3T). Diapers are also needed in size 5.

Helping to meet this need will directly bless this caregiver and provide comfort and stability for the children in her care during the summer season.

DHS is working with a mom who is asking for help with her car. This mom is needing in total $1,481 to work on her car. This mother is needing to get all of her brakes and sensors replaced on her vehicle. Helping with this request will provide this mom with the proper parts to keep her car running so she can go to treatment as well as family time with her 6 kiddos who have recently been placed in foster care. We will gladly accept any help that is offered. Thank you for considering.

An EP apartment complex that the Wooddale Housing Assistance program partners with is starting a community garden for its residents. From the project leader: "This Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 11:30 or 12pm, we will be pulling weeds and getting the garden ready. After that I will purchase plants, dirt and mulch. Anyone that participates, can reap the benefits of the garden. Please let me know if anyone would like to assist or can even offer advice."

One of our partners has a mom who is expecting a baby on 7/9/25 who is in need of the following items. Mom is currently struggling financially and lacks family and friends’ support. She is anxious about not having anything for her little bundle of joy. Any help with the above items will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Mom was recently homeless - she's transitioning to new and more affordable apartment of her own. She needs appliances, as new apartment does not provide items listed. She is actively seeking employment, currently has no available finances to put towards these items. Mother with limited support and unable to seek assistance through family or friends.
