A husband and wife, and their two children have lived in Altadena for many years. They lived in their rental home for 6 years before it was burned completely. The husband is a local barber who was able to work from home a lot of the time making it easier to be with his kids and wife-- which is his main priority. He is also a local basketball coach. To say that he is a community and family man is putting it lightly.He is so concerned about his wife and kids. Since the fires, they have been split up trying to find a place to stay. They need assistance with Rent and furniture.

We’re reaching out on behalf of a devoted single mother doing everything she can to support both her young granddaughter and teenage son. Despite her tireless efforts, life remains a daily struggle under challenging circumstances. Her son is in urgent need of clothing, as what he currently has is worn out and no longer adequate. With proper clothing, he would feel more confident and better equipped to thrive socially and emotionally. With limited resources, any support—especially clothing donations—would make a meaningful difference. Your kindness can help this family look ahead to a brighter future.

We have a mother of 4 in the process of being re-unified. The mother just got an apartment and other furniture but unfortunately, she is not able to afford a dryer. 4 kiddos can create a lot of laundry to clean :). So if we can get assistance for this mother of 4 it would be greatly appreciated.

A student here transferred to us from another state after his mother passed away from cancer. Within a year or a little more, his father was found deceased. He is living with his grandparents. They are disabled and financially do not have the means to pay for the cremation. The grandmother shared the deceased father has been at the funeral home for months waiting to be cremated due to limited funds. They have deposited $400 against the overall cost of $2,500.

Hello! Church, we have an opportunity to come alongside a single mom who is a member at Wildwood & help support her as she cares for the older bio siblings (brothers ages 9 & 12) of her adopted son. The brothers are still in foster care and need care for a period of 10 days in July. To say yes, the single mom needs childcare for the boys while she is at work. There are openings at a local day camp for both boys. The cost for 7 days of camp for both boys is $700. Please keep this family in your prayers - pray specifically for the time the three brothers will have together. One of our very own families, who faithfully serves every weekend, is currently facing a difficult season. They are in need of support with rent and groceries this month to get back on track and not fall behind.

A devoted and selfless caregiver is reaching out for support with groceries as her family navigates an incredibly difficult season. She is a loving mother to her 16-year-old son and the aunt and caregiver to her two young nephews, ages 4 and 3, all of whom she is raising in a home filled with love and stability.

The caregiver, who uses a wheelchair and has faced several recent surgeries, required full-time support during her recovery. Her husband stepped away from work to care for her, which caused them to fall behind financially, including on their car note. With the help of OhioKAN, they were able to get caught up and prevent the repossession of their only vehicle—an essential lifeline for medical appointments and for her husband to begin searching for work again.

While that crisis has been addressed, the family is now struggling with food insecurity. They receive housing and utility assistance, but the rising cost of living and limited income make it nearly impossible to keep enough groceries in the home.

Support with food would be a tremendous help to this family as they continue working to get back on their feet. It would bring relief, restore dignity, and help nourish a household grounded in love, faith, and perseverance. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.

Young Spanish speaking couple just had 3rd child 6 weeks ago. Momma has not been able to get back to work yet and they are struggling on one income to make rent due beginning of July! Church of the Nativity has supported them and looking for additional church support from the community this month. Thank you!!
