We have a family that we are working with. The family consists of a single mother with five children. The mother is working hard to provide for her children and keep a roof over their heads. The mother is in need of a crib that converts into a toddler bed, mattress, and a highchair for the youngest child. If this request is fulfilled, it will provide the child with safe sleeping environment and avoid co-sleeping with the mother. Also, it will eliminate the mother’s stress levels as she will not have to worry about how she is going to come up with the mother for these items and her finances/budget is very tight.

A mom of 2 children ages 3 and 1 is in need of financial assistance for her a $700 of her 1000 application deposit fee for an apartment Due to challenging circumstances, mom became homeless and through hard work has gone from homelessness to finding a full time job, applying for the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) voucher and finding a daycare for her children, and finding a safe place to live with her children temporarily. The family member she has living with is moving to another state so her need to find safe shelter is critical and important. Mom thought she had a rental on Facebook market place, paid the application fee and security deposit but unfortunately it was a scam. Mom is now trying to gather the $1000.00 deposit for the apartment that has a one bedroom apartment available in her price range she can afford.
The need of $700 of the 1000 needed (she has $300 already saved) for the apartment deposit would help mom to achieve her goal of having safe shelter for her and her children and allow her to remain at her job and also allow her kids stay at the daycare they are attending. Mother contacted me regarding her son who is a 20 year old, non-verbal individual on the Autism Spectrum. Mother has lost her job on Thursday, needed to borrow money from the next door neighbor to pay the rent for June, had her car booted and needs to pay the city to remove the boot. Her next door neighbor was killed in a police shooting at the end of May. The shooting victim was a 19 year old boy who happened to be very close to her son and overall the family is struggling financially and emotionally. Her son is expected to go downstate to a Special Olympics competition but she does not have the money to send him in an uber to the school and would like to get him a new pair of gym shoes for the trip.

A courageous and hardworking mother recently achieved reunification with all five of her children after a long journey. She has just moved into her own place and is doing her best to provide a safe, stable environment—but she needs our help. Currently, mom is sleeping on the couch, and although she has a bunk bed frame, it has no mattresses for two of the children. Another child needs a twin bed. Additionally, her youngest child needs a car seat to ensure safe transportation.

I have known this sweet family for over 10 years through Lincoln. Currently, this mom and dad have 2 girls who are still at Lincoln, while the other 2 are almost grown and doing well. One of the younger girls went for a routine eye appointment that didn't go so well. Her vision was significantly blocked, so see was referred to a ped ophthalmologist, thinking maybe it was cataracts. It was determined not to be cataracts and her condition has worsen to not being able to even see light. Due to her ages, she has now been referred to Vanderbilt to see a ped retinal specialist on Tuesday for what is believed to be a detached retina. The family is scared and defiantly don't have money for this unexpected trip. Mom and Dad both have income, but not enough to pay for 2 nights hotel in Nashville, gas, food, etc. The dad has also picked up some extra work, but still not enough. This family would be more than grateful for any assistance to help with this trip. Thank you for your care and support.

There is a family with four children, 3 of which are special needs, that got placed in police protective custody this week due to abuse. The children were removed and all 4 (ages 6,4,4,3) are needing beds for their placements. This is an evolving situation and other needs may arise, but the beds are the most immediate need. Thank you for any help you can provide!

A local family in need has been identified by our church. She lost her job and is trying to sell her house because otherwise she is going to lose it. This is one of those situations where circumstances have snowballed into a big mess. She's trying to get back on her feet, but the burden is heavy and discouraging. She needs a hand up. They have food for today and tomorrow. We would like to offer assistance with alleviating some of the bills that are piling up and helping the family to secure quality food options.

We are seeking the funds to pay their electricity bill so that the power can remain on, the phone bill so that she can maintain contact with their realtor as they try to sell the house, and funds for a grocery gift card.

Hey BC fam! We have a foster family in our church that has welcomed newborn twins into their home and is in urgent need of formula support. The babies consume one $40 can per day. The family is asking for $1,200 over the next 4 weeks as WIC will cover the cost after that. Your generosity will help provide essential nourishment during this critical time. Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. If you happen to have one in good condition that you could give her that is great or here is an option if you would be available and willing to purchase one.
