Young lady in the DCS Bright Futures Program is in need of rental assistance to help carry her over until her unborn child's father gets his first paycheck. She was employed, but due to being 8 months pregnant was let go from her job. She plans to start working again after the baby is born. The baby's father changed jobs & will make enough to pay the rent once it is caught up. They are two months behind on rent. DCS Independent Living Wrap funds are approved to pay 1/2 of the overdue rent, in the amount of $1775. Another community partner has agreed to pay $500. So, this young lady needs $1275 to catch up on her rent. Any help toward the outstanding rent balance would be appreciated.

This family has been treating their home for bedbugs and had to throw away 3 of their mattresses in the process. The bedbug issue has since been resolved and they are needing some assistance with reobtaining mattresses. They would need 2 twin sized mattresses and 1 full sized mattress.

Mom of three children requests help with paying a portion of her monthly rent. The mom has been working daily, but does not have sufficient monies to cover rent. Writer notes that mom has exhausted resources in the community.

A local woman had to take emergency placement of her two nephews from Illinois unexpectedly this weekend. The boys are 3 and 5 years old, and they only came with the clothing on their backs. This is an extremely stressful time for the family, with the additional stress of various serious health concerns for many of the family members.

On top of that, funds from DHHS are depleted and can't help financially support this family to get established in Michigan.

We are asking for a Shell gas card to help with transportation needs, and a Walmart gift card for food and clothing for the boys. Additionally, they need beds.

Infant was born on 6/1/25 and his parents are not able to care for him. Caregiver is a single parent who has decided to care for the infant and Adopt if the parents continue to abuse drugs and not enhance their diminished caregiver capacities. The infant is the parent’s youngest child in the system, his older siblings have also been removed from the mother. The mother is incarcerated and facing jail time. The parents are violent towards one another and do not send money or check on them. The infant only has some donated items and currently doesn’t have properly sleeping arrangements.

They are in need of a crib with mattress and sheets, car seat/stroller travel system, and tummy time activity mat. Other items will be very much welcomed.

She is also currently expecting twins (a boy and a girl) and does not have any baby items or support prepared for their arrival. The financial strain of her son’s illness and loss of income has left her unable to pay her rent and utilities, now totaling $2,000, and she is at immediate risk of becoming homeless.

We have engine trouble in help in getting to work, my car is not covered

A singe mother of 2 with the 7 year old who has epilepsy and requires specialized treatment. During the last two months the younger child required multiple doctors visits and specialty visits to Stanford Children's Neurosurgery Center. This has put a major financial strain and hardship on the mother. With additional unforeseen costs of travel, medical bills, prescription costs, and lost time from work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to help this family with this urgent need as they are facing eviction. We would like to help reduce any additional stress that would trigger any seizures episodes from occurring from having to move. Your help will keep this young family from becoming unhoused.
