We are currently assisting a single mother residing in Brooklyn who is caring for her four children. One of her daughters is actively enrolled in our mentorship program, and we have been closely supporting the family as they navigate significant challenges. The mother is facing ongoing housing insecurity and currently has extremely limited access to basic resources. She has exhausted her food stamp benefits and is unable to afford sufficient food for her family, placing them at risk of nutritional hardship. In addition to food insecurity, the family is in urgent need of essential home furnishings. One of the daughters does not have a dresser, and the family is also in need of three mattresses for the children. These items are critical to helping the family maintain a safe, organized, and dignified living environment. The mother has a scheduled appointment with the Human Resources Administration (HRA) in an effort to secure further support. In the meantime, we are seeking immediate assistance with the following: -One dresser for the daughter -Three mattresses for the children Providing these basic necessities would significantly reduce the stress this family is experiencing and greatly contribute to their well-being and sense of security. Bio mom is beginning overnights, but needs a hotel to give her an extra night each week until trial reunification begins. Bio mom has done fantastic during her case, and her children are ready to be home with her full-time. This would help the family continue to bond and strengthen their family unit.

This child was on the run with the mother. We were able to locate the child in Atlanta GA. The child did not have anything with her when we got her. This child will be needing summer clothes and shoes. This has been a traumatic experience for this child. Thank you for your help for this child.

A mother and her child, who have recently triumphed over significant domestic violence challenges, are seeking assistance with transportation to attend medical appointments and access domestic violence services. With a limited income, especially after losing a primary source of support from her ex-boyfriend who is no longer permitted to contact the family due to safety concerns this mother is in a difficult situation. We are hopeful to secure a Quick Trip gas card by tomorrow morning during the TDM, which would greatly alleviate their transportation expenses and support their journey toward healing and stability.

Although she is a hard working mother, she was not able to come up with this month's rent due to having to missed some days of work. This due to illness, which cause her to be short on her checks. She has never ask for help, and this time she is embarrassed to even ask, but we know she needs the help. DCCCA will be supporting with some funds, but we are still short and are requesting your help with the additional $215 needed to cover the entire month. We are supporting a single mother who has recently reunited with her children with weekly meals and a prayer team. She has requested assistance with her utility bill to get caught up. As you may be aware, Dave Petke is in the hospital with a UTI and blood pressure problems. Sharon is not able to be at the hospital all the time, it wears her out and her health is not good enough for her to be there with him all the time. She’s tried just calling to check in, this morning she sat on hold for 45 minutes and had to call back three times before she finally got someone to answer. Someone is needed this week to sit with Dave each day between the hours of 8am-12pm to give Sharon time to get ready and get over there each day to be with him. Please do not share this need beyond our church family. You will be contacted with specifics of where to go when you select your day. Thank you!

I am working with a awesome, hard working Single mom that does amazing work helping others in the community is now facing some hardships. She and her family attended, participated wholeheartedly and graduated from our 14-week Strengthening Family Program and has been an outspoken advocate for family wellness. She was recently put in a very hard situation and received news that her landlord is selling her home expectantly, and she was put in a time crunch and after searching and searching for a new place she found one and has to come up with a deposit of $1000 to hold the unit. After talking with the new homeowner, he stated she could allow her to pay $500 by Monday 6/9/25 and the other $500 by Friday 6/13/25. If you can help, please be a blessing to this mom, please, she has helped so many families in her line of work, and she has just paid her rent where she is currently living and does not have the money for her deposit. If you could please help her so she and her children are not put out on the street, and can move into their new home. Anything you can donate would be a great help. Thank you!

One of our newly arrived families has moved into apartments that have no air conditioning and the family has no fans. We all know how hot it gets and the adults and the children can get overheated. If anyone can provide a free standing or window air conditioner or a couple fans, that would be wonderful. Thank you

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our Children’s Church students who is currently in foster care. Her mother has recently secured employment and is in the process of transitioning to a new home. While this is a positive step forward for their family, it has also placed a significant financial strain on them. Due to these circumstances, the family is unable to afford the registration fee for summer camp. However, we strongly believe that this child would greatly benefit from the experience—emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Camp would provide her with a safe, uplifting environment and a chance to grow in confidence and faith during a time of major life change.
