The Families Together program at Christian Heritage has received a help request from a single mom with 4 younger kids. The mom is working for one of the local schools as a paraeducator. Because of a paperwork snafu on her employers part and her disability has been impacted. The disability is being straightened out, but that process takes so much time. Because of the impact on the disability, this mom is behind on rent and is accumulating late fees of $15 a day. She has an eviction notice for July 6. If she can pay the past due before then she won't have to move. Mom has called all the agencies and tried all the programs to help, but has not had luck yet finding the resources she needs.

Mom is looking into other ways to work over the summer so she can earn more money to pay this bill, but with 4 younger kids, she is having a hard time making that work.

So far, she owes $1865 with $15 a day being added to that amount. On July 1 she will need to come up with another $900 for July rent if she stays at this apartment. Mom is able to put down between $700-800 to help pay the past due amount. Once the past due is paid, she has the finances to stay current on her rent.

A caregiver is in need of assistance for an 8-year-old male who was recently placed into her care. The child came to her with no clothing or shoes. The child is in need of clothing, socks and shoes; other donations are encouraged and welcomed. Once this need is met the child will be able to settle into his placement more comfortably, and the caregiver will be able to focus on the child's additional needs. The child wears a size 14/16 in boys and a size 5 in shoes.

A grandmother is placement for her 6-year-old grandson. She is requesting help with groceries for him and them.

two young sisters, ages 6 and 12, were recently removed from their home due to unsafe conditions involving substance use and violence. The removal, though necessary for their safety, came at a heartbreaking cost: the loss of their home, their two baby siblings, and the only life they had ever known. With no immediate family able to take them in, the girls faced the strong possibility of being separated and placed in a shelter-separated from each other and remaining sense of security. DFPS reviewed history and reached out to their maternal great aunt, a young woman living in a modest one bedroom apartment. She had limited financial means and was just beginning her own life-Recently engaged and unprepared for this life-altering news. Still, without hesitation this aunt said yes. Though her home is small, she made space for the two girls. They arrived that night with only the clothes on their backs and a few small items. Since then, their aunt has done everything she can to meet their needs, despite the financial and emotional strain. Aunt reached out, asking if anyone can help her find a booster seat for the 6 year old-just one of many basic items they lacked. Aunts humble request reflect the many unseen needs that come with caring for children on short notice. Though the future is uncertain, her strength and compassion have already changed the girls lives. With support I can see this family has a chance to begin again-together.

Mother age 32 is requesting support to pay her rent. Mother stated that she has not been working enough hours to meet her monthly rent. Mother has been cooperating with the department and is close to having her children back in her home. Mother reports that she needs assistance in paying rent and can get back on her feet with support. Mother has worker very hard to obtain employment and a home for herself and her children.

Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. If you happen to have one in good condition that you could give her that is great or here is an option if you would be available and willing to purchase one. A single mom with an 8-month-old is living with her mother and does not have a bed for herself. She needs a full or queen-size bed (frame, mattress, and box springs) plus bedding. A small floor fan (not a ceiling fan) is also needed for the bedroom. This mom is part of the Napier community that Harpeth Hills serves.

Newly arrived Special Immigrant Visa holder family of 7 who fled from Afghanistan (US allies) is needing a bunkbed for 4 daughters to settle into a single bedroom in their 2 BR-1BA apartment this week.

Unfortunately, due to limited space in bedroom (needing to fit 2 sets of bunk beds), twin bunk beds will fit better than full bunk beds, so probably not flexible on that aspect of this request.

Depending on the bunk bed frame that you donate, we may or may not need box springs, so I didn't add those explicitly to this request.

We have a youth accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College starting in August. She will definitely need a laptop for school. Although her tuition should be covered by the state through the Independent Living Program (ILP), she will be living on campus and will have to pay her own dorm fees, ($400 per month). She will have a job on campus to try to cover those fees, but is also working now trying to save up for a car. She would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide to set her up well to succeed at school. Please join us in praying for this youth!
