A loving grandmother has opened her heart and home to care for her two young grandchildren during an unexpected and challenging time. While her love is endless, her resources are not—and she is in urgent need of assistance to help meet the children’s most basic needs.

Groceries are especially needed to ensure the kids have nourishing food on the table each day. Additionally, as the children are growing quickly, they are in need of comfortable, well-fitting clothing. Since trying on clothes for the right fit is important, gift cards to stores like Walmart or Kroger would be incredibly helpful and allow the family to choose items that suit the children best.

Any support you can offer will help ease the burden on this devoted grandmother and bring a sense of comfort and dignity to her grandchildren. Your kindness can make a real difference in their day-to-day lives.

B) The mother of 5 kids was forced to leave all her things in the previous apartment out of fear of a neighbor that was violent. Mother was told not to return. Mother is a hard worker, who had to take a leave from her security to job to transition to her new home and care for her 5 children while she tries to replace all of her belongings. CSW observed her children to be well cared for and to have a strong family bond. Mother is resilient, caring for her children in spite of all obstacles, and this is the first time DCFS has been involved with their family. The family needs to replace almost everything. They need the following items found on amazon for reasonable prices: 1 Bunk bed frame twin over Queen $250, 1 Queen mattress $120 & 3 twin mattresses $85.89 each (before taxes).

An 18 year old boy is currently residing in a domestic violence shelter after leaving a difficult home life where he was being treated poorly. He does not have a support system other than the staff at the shelter who is helping him with life skills and getting on his feet. He is also engaged in services at Community Partnership and plans to participate in their Youthbuild Program. He is also working on securing part-time employment. He was recently placed in a rental assistance program and has been able to secure an apartment. He has nothing for his home. He is in need of a full size bed, bed frame, couch, dresser, etc.

We are seeking support to provide either a bunk bed or two twin beds, along with two mattresses, bedding, and pull-ups in sizes 6 and 7. These essentials will give the children a comfortable place to sleep and help them feel safe and at home during this significant transition.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. If you happen to have one in good condition that you could give her that is great or here is an option if you would be available and willing to purchase one. A single mom with an 8-month-old is living with her mother and does not have a bed for herself. She needs a full or queen-size bed and bedding. A small floor fan (not a ceiling fan) is also needed for the bedroom. This mom is part of the Napier community that Harpeth Hills serves.

Newly arrived Special Immigrant Visa holder family of 7 who fled from Afghanistan (US allies) is needing a bunkbed for 4 daughters to settle into a single bedroom in their 2 BR-1BA apartment this week.

Unfortunately, due to limited space in bedroom (needing to fit 2 sets of bunk beds), twin bunk beds will fit better than full bunk beds, so probably not flexible on that aspect of this request.

Depending on the bunk bed frame that you donate, we may or may not need box springs, so I didn't add those explicitly to this request.

We have a youth accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College starting in August. She will definitely need a laptop for school. Although her tuition should be covered by the state through the Independent Living Program (ILP), she will be living on campus and will have to pay her own dorm fees, ($400 per month). She will have a job on campus to try to cover those fees, but is also working now trying to save up for a car. She would greatly appreciate any and all help you could provide to set her up well to succeed at school. Please join us in praying for this youth!

Backpacks & BBQ is an annual outreach event hosted by Middletown Nazarene Church that brings together our church, community, and local partners to support students and families preparing for the school year. We provide free backpacks, serve a full cookout-style meal, and offer a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for children in need in our community.

Each summer, hundreds of neighbors come together at our church for this day of joy and generosity. Children leave ready to start school with confidence and dignity — and families leave knowing they are seen, supported, and loved.
