I am working with a client who lost his partner to cancer back in March of this year. They have 3 children together and he has had to make ends meet while still grieving. His three kiddos are precious and they seem to be doing okay under the circumstances. This request is for dad as he secured a third shift job to support his family, but he is needing some gas money to get him to work until his first paycheck on 7/3.

He does get food stamps and other benefits to help them with their other important needs, but financially fell into a temporary hole having to fix his car, which is thankfully is now working!

Dad stated his car gets great gas mileage and $50 would get him through to July 3. Anything is greatly appreciated!

We have a young 17-year-old client who has a chance to participate in Bible Camp this summer, but caregivers are unable to provide the funding for it. We are looking to get funding as soon as possible due to how quickly the camp spots are filling. Caregivers report they hope to have him participate in this camp as they also would benefit from the respite it will provide, and they want to preserve placement.

Last year at Spero we had the privilege of welcoming a family from Afghanistan to Oklahoma. On June 13th, the family welcomed their first U.S.-born child. As the 5 siblings and family get into the adjust to having a sweet new daughter, they have found themselves in need of a baby swing. Diapers and wipes are also welcome if available!

A local family in need has been identified by our church. She lost her job and is trying to sell her house because otherwise she is going to lose it. This is one of those situations where circumstances have snowballed into a big mess. She's trying to get back on her feet, but the burden is heavy and discouraging. She needs a hand up. They have food for today and tomorrow. We would like to offer assistance with alleviating some of the bills that are piling up and helping the family to secure quality food options.

We are seeking the funds to pay their electricity bill so that the power can remain on, the phone bill so that she can maintain contact with their realtor as they try to sell the house, and funds for a grocery gift card.

Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.
