A single mother to a 10-year old son currently facing financial and personal hardship. The mother is unemployed at this time to prioritize her mental health and work through ongoing recovery from substance abuse. She is proud to share that she has receiving her pin for achieving her 1 year of sobriety the beginning of this month. Recently, an unexpected issue occurred when her son's mattress was infested with bed bugs. To prevent further infestation throughout their unit, she immediately disposed of the mattress. Unfortunately, she is not in a financial position to replace the bed on her own at this time. She is kindly asking for assistance in the form of donated box spring and mattress for her son. She is open to either a twin or full sized mattress/bed frame, whichever is available first.

The Department is working with a father with a 2-year-old daughter. He is currently in need of financial assistance with size 4 diapers and unscented baby wipes. The father is currently working full-time and going to school but is struggling with this expense due to recently taking on his daughter full-time. Assistance with this need so that this father can keep his child in home and focus on her needs and this case is greatly appreciated!

The department is requesting assistance to provide basic needs to a family. Both parents were arrested, and children were replaced with their grandmother. Grandmother did not hesitate and took in for children under the age of four. The youngest child is one month old. Grandmother is in need of diapers, baby wipes, clothes, and groceries for the children. Your assistance is greatly appreciated to provide this relative with the basic needs.

We are seeking support to help a 17-year-old male youth currently residing in a youth shelter reunite with his father out of state. Due to ongoing strife in the home, the youth is no longer permitted to return, leaving him without a stable place to live. His father has expressed a willingness to care for him and provide a safe, supportive environment, but lacks the resources to bring his son home. We are requesting assistance to cover the cost of a flight so this young man can be reunited with his father and begin the next chapter of his life in a more stable and caring setting. Your support would help make this reunification possible and offer this youth the security and connection he deserves.

****FOOD SCARCITY IS AN ISSUE, **We are in the process of getting her on SNAP, WIC and Medicaid but these take time. 15-year-old mother with no family support no longer living in familial home requires baby items for her medically fragile child age 22 months. Items being requested are safety items for the home; plug covers, (1) baby gate, Magnetic cabinet locks that don't require nails, monkey locks, a highchair, plates and bowls for a toddler, clothing/pajamas 18mo-2t, diapers size 6, age-appropriate toys, books etc. She also needs cleaning supplies, bucket, mop, broom, kitchen/bathroom cleaning supplies. She does have crib and car seat provided by the department. If you need it for a child, she needs it. Any and all help we can provide for this mother is greatly appreciated. She is a child herself and is dealing with an extraordinary set of circumstances. She herself needs a support system.

Kristy Crill of The Dive and a fellow member of CCA connected me with a woman and her adult age special needs son who left a DV relationship in the beginning of this year and accepted a new job here in Savannah as a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) with an expected start date of June 23. She and her son have been staying at an extended stay hotel and have exhausted their funds on food lodging and transportation. Her car broke and she relies on uber to get to and from work. This woman is looking for a one week hotel stay down in Richmond Hill near her new job. She is also in need of your prayers.

Hey BC fam! We have a foster family in our church that has welcomed newborn twins into their home and is in urgent need of formula support. The babies consume one $40 can per day. The family is asking for $1,200 over the next 4 weeks as WIC will cover the cost after that. Your generosity will help provide essential nourishment during this critical time. Single mom with two children facing eviction if she doesn't get help with her rent. Children out of school, and challenges with child care, caused her to miss work. She only has half of her rent. She needs to help with $600 which is the the other half of the rent and late charges. The children will be going to summer camp in July allowing mom to get back to her normal working hours.

Hey team, we have a family in our church that serves as a foster family. The birth mom for the child is in need of a convertible car seat so they can have the child for visitation. This would meet a huge need for this mom and child and serve the foster family as well. A single mom with an 8-month-old is living with her mother and does not have a bed for herself. She needs a full or queen-size bed (frame, mattress, and box springs) plus bedding. A small floor fan (not a ceiling fan) is also needed for the bedroom. This mom is part of the Napier community that Harpeth Hills serves.
