A 17-year-old youth has a chance to participate in Bible Camp this summer. Caregivers are unable to provide the funding for it. We are looking to get funding as soon as possible due to how quickly the camp spots are filling. Caregivers report they hope to have him participate in this camp as they also would benefit from the respite it will provide, and they want to preserve placement

The family is residing in a two-bedroom apartment. All three boys share a room. The boys aged 13 and 15 are developmentally delayed and share a bed. The 13-year-old is non-verbal and has severe autism and wears pull ups. The 17-year-old sleeps in a twin bed. It is not an ideal situation for the two boys to share a bed. It would be beneficial to have a mattress protector. The home is also very hot, and the family would benefit from a window air conditioning unit to alleviate the heat.

A relative has recently taken a newborn into her home and is in need of diapers and wipes. The caregiver has expressed that the newborn is flying through the diapers and wipes, and she is speaking up before it becomes a more urgent need. The caregiver expressed that she has reached out to all of the avenues that she could think of but is still in need of these items.

The mother is a single parent of six children, currently at risk of eviction due to unpaid rent. She needs financial assistance to cover her overdue rent and avoid losing their home. Providing this support will help the family maintain housing stability, keep the children in their schools, and prevent the trauma of displacement. This assistance will give the mother the time and stability needed to improve her financial situation and care for her children.

Parents ages 52 and 44 years old have stated that they need financial support to obtain bus tickets to be able to have family time with their daughter in Denver Colorado. Parents have stated that they do not have enough SSI income to meet the need of purchasing bus tickets. Parents have stated that it is either bus tickets or their next meal. Their 8 year old daughter enjoys spending time with parents and seeing them once per week.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.

Young Spanish speaking couple just had 3rd child 6 weeks ago. Momma has not been able to get back to work yet and they are struggling on one income to make rent due beginning of July! We have been connected to a family who is fostering through DHHS. This foster family has placement of 3 little children (ages from 4-8) that they are in the process of adopting. They had their washing machine and air conditioning break down in the same week and only had the funds to replace one, so they prioritized the air conditioning for the summer heat wave we had this past week. The family had a high capacity 5.3 cu-ft top-load washing machine to be able to meet with laundry demands of their family and would like their replacement to have a similar capacity and similarly top-loading. The youngest child has some higher needs and frequently wets the bed which requires regular use of a washing machine for larger bedding items. The family consulted a technician who reported the costs of the repair for the washing machine would be at least $800 and the technician recommended buying a new one over paying for repairs. The listed cost is for a 5.3 cu-ft top-load with delivery from Lowe's.

A mom and her five children urgently need to relocate due to an escalating domestic violence situation. After leaving an abusive relationship four years ago and working hard to build a stable life, her safety has once again been compromised. She has made the decision to move to another state where she has supportive family and has already secured permission to transfer her housing voucher and end her current lease.
