A family providing kinship care for their nephew who recently entered foster care is in urgent need of support. They are requesting a full-size mattress and dresser to ensure he has a safe and comfortable living space. Providing these items will help the family maintain the kinship placement and support the child’s stability.

A victim of domestic violence and single mother of three children who completed a parenting, DV program, DV support group and individual counseling is achieving independence and about to have her DCFS closed by court next month as she has been able to keep her children safe. However, as she navigates the journey toward financial independence, she is also adjusting to the rising cost of living and having her children home for summer. Mother has been resourceful with applying for Cal Fresh and viisting local food pantries but is still running low on food this summer. This is a challenging time for her, and any assistance for the family would greatly be appreciated. Family is in need of a food gift card to Walmart or any other super market in the area to help feed the children fo rtherest of the summer.

Toddler bed needed. A grandmother is the caregiver and needs a toddler bed for this toddler.

A devoted and resilient caregiver—who has legal custody of her 11-year-old grandson—is in urgent need of support for additional auto repairs. With the help of OhioKAN, most of the initial repair costs are being covered; however, once the shop (Milex/Mr. Transmission) began working on the vehicle, they discovered an additional issue: the valve cover gaskets need to be replaced, totaling $264.00. This unexpected expense was not part of the original estimate, and unfortunately, cannot be covered by OhioKAN’s already-approved amount of $2,018.36.

This caregiver is navigating an overwhelming season of life. Alongside managing her own serious health condition—Congestive Heart Failure—she is also coping with the heartbreaking and recent loss of her nephew, who was tragically murdered. She is now planning travel to Maryland to attend his funeral, further stretching her emotional and financial capacity.

Despite everything she’s facing, she continues to show up for her grandson with love and determination. Any additional support to help cover this unexpected car repair would be deeply appreciated. Her vehicle is currently at the shop receiving the approved repairs, but she will need to return it soon to address the valve cover gasket issue.

This client is a current client and was abortion minded, but now is continuing with the pregnancy. Boyfriend abandon her with that decision to continue with the pregnancy. He left her with a $841.23 electric bill. She is asking for help to pay that bill. She does have a two year old had the baby in May.

I've been walking alongside an incredible single mom of 5 kids for about a year and half. She successfully completed a program at Leah's Hope (who helps women with children at risk of homelessness.) She has made many sacrifices and exhausted all of her resources to provide for her kids. She's maintaining employment and making progress in her life, but recently, her sister was incarcerated, so she took in her two nephews so they wouldn't have to go into the foster care system. The cost of supporting two additional children has caused a strain on her finances and she has fallen behind on her car payment. Her car is at risk of being repossessed if she does not make a payment of $413. If her car gets repossessed, she would not have transportation to and from work, so she would also be at risk of losing her job. Any help for this amazing mom would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Church, we have an opportunity to come alongside a single mom who is a member at Wildwood & help support her as she cares for the older bio siblings (brothers ages 9 & 12) of her adopted son. The brothers are still in foster care and need care for a period of 10 days in July. To say yes, the single mom needs childcare for the boys while she is at work. There are openings at a local day camp for both boys. The cost for 7 days of camp for both boys is $700. Please keep this family in your prayers - pray specifically for the time the three brothers will have together. One of our very own families, who faithfully serves every weekend, is currently facing a difficult season. They are in need of support with rent and groceries this month to get back on track and not fall behind.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.
