Prior to the disaster, she had been renting an apartment in Altadena and maintaining stable employment in the area. Unfortunately, due to the fire, she lost her home and has since been displaced. She is currently renting a single room in Los Angeles while actively searching for affordable housing closer to her job. Despite her efforts, she has faced challenges securing long-term housing in her previous neighborhood due to rising costs and limited availability. We are seeking support to help her cover rental deposit assistance and application fees, which are creating financial barriers as she continues her search for stability.

Please consider helping a young family with material needs for their six children. The children are in need of summer clothing, diapers and wipes.

We are advocating on behalf of a determined and resilient young man who recently lost his apartment due to the recent wildfires in our area. Despite the hardship and uncertainty, he has been doing everything he can to rebuild his life. After the fire, he temporarily received housing assistance through 211, but once that support ended, he found himself without a stable place to stay. He has since been staying with various family and friends while working diligently to regain his footing. His perseverance has paid off he has now secured a new apartment and recently started a new job. He is committed to rebuilding and creating a stable life for himself. To help him turn his new apartment into a home, we are seeking support with a few essential furniture items: A new bed (mattress and frame), a small couch, and a chair for seating. These items will help him create a comfortable living space as he starts this new chapter. Any assistance to help furnish his home would go a long way in encouraging his progress and honoring the strength he’s shown in the face of adversity.

This is a request for a youth to get a new or used laptop computer or tablet. The youth has a need for this computer to help facilitate their journey into adulthood. They are trying to obtain employment and continue their final year in high school. This item will allow them the ability to fully engage with the necessary requirements of various online applications and virtual job search. They are going to use this tool to do schoolwork as well to maintain proper standing in their academic endeavors. By giving this individual a way to approach these barriers in their life you will be providing an important need in their current and future success.

Our client's case just closed and we represent her as the parent. She has 2 children, ages 3 and 9 months. She just recently moved into her own apartment with her children with hardly anything. She has no money and is no longer receiving funding, as her case closed. She is in need of food for her and her children, as she stated that they have nothing to eat. She also needs clothing for her daughters who wears a size 3T/4T (3 year old) and the baby wears a size 9 to 12 months. She was also requesting a toddler bed for the 3 year old. It is my hope that we can help this family.

I've been walking alongside an incredible single mom of 5 kids for about a year and half. She successfully completed a program at Leah's Hope (who helps women with children at risk of homelessness.) She has made many sacrifices and exhausted all of her resources to provide for her kids. She's maintaining employment and making progress in her life, but recently, her sister was incarcerated, so she took in her two nephews so they wouldn't have to go into the foster care system. The cost of supporting two additional children has caused a strain on her finances and she has fallen behind on her car payment. Her car is at risk of being repossessed if she does not make a payment of $413. If her car gets repossessed, she would not have transportation to and from work, so she would also be at risk of losing her job. Any help for this amazing mom would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Church, we have an opportunity to come alongside a single mom who is a member at Wildwood & help support her as she cares for the older bio siblings (brothers ages 9 & 12) of her adopted son. The brothers are still in foster care and need care for a period of 10 days in July. To say yes, the single mom needs childcare for the boys while she is at work. There are openings at a local day camp for both boys. The cost for 7 days of camp for both boys is $700. Please keep this family in your prayers - pray specifically for the time the three brothers will have together. One of our very own families, who faithfully serves every weekend, is currently facing a difficult season. They are in need of support with rent and groceries this month to get back on track and not fall behind.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to serve two families in our community. While our assistance was very much appreciated, it does not alleviate the on-going need for these families. Both families have young children who are home during the summer months. To ensure that they have access to hot meals during the summer while they are out of school, Heartland is initiating a request to provide food gift cards to each family throughout the duration of the summer.

A father at Point Church has recently regained custody of his three children and could use some clothing items for them. He is in need of a few shirts, a few pairs of shorts, a pair of pajamas, a few pairs of socks and underwear, and a pair of shoes for his 5-year-old daughter (clothing size 5-6, shoe size 11-13), 7-year-old daughter (clothing size 8-10, underwear size 10-12, shoe size 12-13), and 10-year-old son (clothing size 14, shoe size 5). Secondhand clothing in good condition is fine. It would be a blessing for them to have these items by July 11.
