Story
“Greene County Department of Social Services has been assisting a family of four (mother, father, 3-year-old, and infant) find permanent housing. The family has been working with the Agency for a few months and has shown complete compliance with all that is requested of them. Upon entry of the housing program, the family had a storage unit in Cairo, NY, but are now unable to access it due to falling behind on payment. The mother has taken on a full-time job to support the family, while the father provides care to both children. Items in the locked storage unit include supplies and necessities for the children like strollers, clothing, and other personal belongings. The family has been trying to rectify the missed payments, but much of their income has gone to the immediate needs of the children like diapers, wipes, new clothing/shoes, and food. At this time, the Agency and family are requesting assistance with paying the amount of $175 so they can access the storage unit for their belongings.”
