A grandmother has been caring for her infant granddaughter since she was released from the NICU and has been struggling to make ends meet since then. The baby recently celebrated her first birthday and is close to graduating from her special needs program!

Grandmother's washer recently started acting up and she does not have the money to cover the repairs, as her car is already needing work done. With infant clothes and toys constantly needing washed, this grandmother is in need of repairs as soon as possible to continue to care for her granddaughter. A local appliance repairman has estimated the cost of fixing (including service fees) to be around $120. We are asking for financial assistance to pay the invoice once repairs are completed.

Grandmother and child live in Harrisonville, we expect that the invoice can be paid over the phone.

Open case for domestic violence and environmental concerns. Single mom, no support from the children’s father. Mom has worked very hard and has been able to get the home cleaned up and everything else taken care of but attempted to purchase bunk beds off Facebook marketplace only to get home and discover she was missing several important parts. The seller has stopped responding. Mom is really struggling emotionally and financially with the loss of income, is behind on rent, and paying for beds only to have that result was more than disappointing. I’m hoping we can get some help with the beds at least. She is doing her best. Boys need bunk beds, twin over twin preferably, and girl does not need a bed but does need bedding no color or theme preference

The Department is working with a family who recently reunified with their two children. The children transitioned to the home successfully, but the home is a one income home at this time. The mother switched jobs to be home with her children daily instead of just weekends, but it has resulted in a significant pay cut for the family. The mother has requested help for school clothing and shoes for the children in the form of gift cards. Any support from the community is greatly appreciated.

A single father with a special needs child is in need of a couch as the previous one they had was thrown out due to being worn and damaged from a bug infestation in the home. The child is non-verbal and spends most of his time watching television on the couch. The father is unable to afford a couch at this time due to having one income.

A youth who is expressing interest in becoming a barber as his career. A family of 5 is in need of a bed for their oldest son. He is in high school and is need of a full-sized bed. The family has suffered a few set backs and are working hard to get back on their feet. Having a bed will greatly improve the quality of life for this teenage boy. Please consider helping with this need.

One of our favorite Wooddale Staff is needing to move to California for family reasons and needs our Helping Hands at her home, preferably the week of July 21 and all work completed by July 27. The following needs to be addressed are listed:

1.) there is a decent sized hole in the drywall that needs filling (from my mom’s oxygen tank)

2.) help with weeding planter beds and trimming shrubs

There is an individual within the church that coaches underprivileged children that is in need of athletic gear / shoes / cleats for a few of the children in order for them to remain active in sports this summer and throughout the upcoming school year.. mainly he is in need of basketball shoes any sizes and size 12.5 men's cleats and tennis/ basketball shoes. If u have any kids or adult shoes for males new or used in good condition that u would like to donate please please reach out these kids are desperately needing these to continue with the well-being of their athletic abilities not to mention being active in sports helps with the mental well being of our children in today's society
